actually not as bad as you think, but then again you have to know the tricks to lvl it. which is actually quite simple.
Get alot of + agl and + shield skill gear goes to the tree and get those mandies and put up reprisal(increases block rate and gives spikes on blocks). also using reprisal on 2hr'd monk mobs in dynamis will make it shoot up hella fast.
I don't get home until 8pm on Tues/Thurs, all other times seem okay on my time. And if you can help with this lolCoP then I can be in Limbus mode soon. :o

There's nothing wrong with astral burns. So if said person only has 50 skill then they shouldn't be using it until they skill it. No different than a SAM skilling polearm after they hit 50-55ish when polearm > GK. Is it lazy on them? Hell no. Still using what the game provides, no hacks or exploits.
Hmmmm...I'm saying I'll go for the next set of runs. I've failed some fights, but it was mainly the sleepers not paying attention so I wiped. Were they trying to sleep while it was flying? Did you guys think you couldn't nuke it when he 2hrs? It only take ~5k dmg to win the fight. If he's close then throwing blizzaga's will work also.

he actually builds resisntances over time too, throw in aero 2's

Resists mostly. The second run I actually had a freeze do 71 damage. It put stoneskin up or something between the time our nukes landed (row hit for 750ish. mob did something. mine landed less than 2 seconds later for 71)
The first run I'll take the blame on. I underestimated how much HP the mob had left. If we had saved 2 hour for after death (since our max MP isn't enough for freeze after getting up with RR) we would've won. Also, it took to the air right as MNK and SAM used 2 hour. I didn't get a chance to see how much damage they did.

We slept in air, we nuked when we had MP, I don't even know what his 2hr is, but I saw the animation for it.
If sleep is cast, particularly with ele-seal, while it is taking off, it will usually land for full effect even if it's in air. I'll be more clear next time about waiting for it to land prior to sleeping.
Its 2 hour is invincible. It can use it up to about 3 times per fight. Always used between 70%-80%.

Nobody logged in over the weekend for it. I checked throughout both days.
Edit: You need to send me a message with your job levels 50+. I can never remember anything besides BLU.

Resists hurt the fight. Is your ele skill capped for the most part? I usually tell sleepers not to start casting a sleep spell until it is actually on the ground. Were you rotating repose and sleep? I'm just asking questions and giving advice based on how the fights have gone for me. Gotta time nuke. Have the mnk 2hr at the start while the sam is meditating for their 2 hr. BLMs time nuke until ~45-50% and then have the sam 2hr. Should be dead after that.
Don't sweat it that I wasn't there to help. Now it's either farms more melts or spend more gil. Either way I recommend at least 2 melts per person. It's more than enough, but just for those "Oh ***!" moments. Can sell the rest and divide the gil after that.
