The only good reason behind Astral Burning that I see is "We really need this job for *insert event here*" and the person doesn't even want to go through the leveling process. But for a job that a person wants to play, Astral Burning defeats the purpose.

Depends. If someone has a 75 War, but the ls needs like...Drg or something, he can easily pre-cap Polearm to a pretty decent level and just burn Drg up. It's a DD job, most (if not all) are the same - Auto-attack and use JAs when they are up.
Same goes for mages - if you have Blm and Whm and want to level Sch, you can easily have healing and elemental already at a high level and you know how to heal and nuke. The whole 'learning how to play the job' thing is old. It's honestly common sense how to play most jobs on this game.

for those low levels, Astral burning would definitely work. Just to save us the pain of Valkrum and Queefum, God I hate those places.
Row, you can burn Cor dude. Just remember what rolls do and put the lucky/unlucky number in /echo for the macro. Quick Draw is pretty basic. It's far from a complicated job, just pricey.

By god i think everyone should be astral burned or use campaign ops from 10-20 skip that hwole valurm dooms phase.

We'll yeah for brainless DD that'd be fine, but would you want a pld or nin who astral burned tanking for you. It makes for gimped players. Then you have to start calling your empire and taking 100 people to all events for your clear.

It's so easy to tell you're a tank. PLD and NIN are the only two jobs you think about, EVER.

Unless Shield is really high from another job (which I don't think even gets close to Pld's rank), I'd level Pld normally. Shield skill is a ***.
