when i get italian i go to an authentic italian place. granted it's closer than any olive garden. i would still go there if they built an olive garden in my town. i go to mexican places when i want mexican food and taco bell if it's 2 am and i'm drunk.

The only kind of food I get picky about is Mexican food. I grew up in Southern Cali and 1/2 of my family is Mexican ... I know what real Mexican food is and it has spoiled me. In GA, I have found exactly 1 place that is actually Mexican food, everything else is GA/Southern style Mexican food and tastes horrible. I honestly won't eat it. I'd rather go to the carniceria down the street and make my own.

Food to me is less about being "authentic" as opposed to what tastes good to me... I eat what tastes good...

From now on, I will base a foods origin based on the ethnicity of the person cooking it. Chinese person makes burritos? That's Chinese food.
