How is XIV now? I see a lot of people have gone back. I just went back to WoW, so I'm not gonna switch, just curious because that game did have a lot of potential IMO.

My WoW account was hacked like 3 times :P Had to send in ID and stuff to get it back, but I have an authenticator now.
Is WOW fun??? Thought about trying it out.
I like it. Definitely a lot has changed since I played it before (played for a couple years :P)
It's different than XI in a lot of ways, take that as you will. You don't need to rely on a party to get a lot done, but of course some stuff still requires other people. They have a free trial of it, so doesn't hurt to at least try if you're interested.
If you do try it, I have Horde characters on Uldaman and an Alliance character on Windrunner. I can help you out with stuff if need be :)

Oh yeah, Dameshi, I finally got around to logging into my Battle.net account. Turns out that email was legit.
Debating on whether or not to contact them and have them look into it. I checked my emails and the last time I even interacted with the account was 7/18/10. >_>

It's really easy to get back, there is a little form you fill out and send to them along with some form of ID. Of course if you don't use it, no point in really doing it :P

Yeah, maybe if I ever decide I feel like messing around with WoW again... It can stay locked until then. Which probably won't happen unless I come into some money or they do a cheap expansion bundle like FFXI does. I never had any of the expansions for it.

I believe they have the WoW battlechest which has like the first 2 expansions and he game.
Also they have the scroll of resurrection which can be given to a player who quit and it gives them I think Cataclysm for free and a free level 80 character.

Instead of just slaughtering monsters, which you can do, it is more efficient to do quests to level. Of course, lots of quests involve killing things lol. You can level solo or in a party, but solo leveling is probably more effective. You can also level in dungeons, in which case you will need a party.
It's pretty quick, and there is always more than one zone you can choose from at any given level, so there is decent variety. The nice thing about questing to level is that you get gold and gear from quests, so your gear will never fall way behind your level. Of course, better loot comes from the dungeons and quests associated with dungeons as well.
Basically one thing I really like about WoW is you can login for 20-30 minutes and feel like you accomplished something. Finish a couple quests, get some exp, then logout. Don't need to arrange a party then slaughter colibri for 3 hours :P

Well in FF11 if your in a party with cool people it is so much fun. With douches, not so fun. I do like the fact you can get somethings done solo without a party or LS is why I am thinking about WOW.
Yeah partying with cool people does make very fun, but I also like how you have the freedom to solo more in wow than FF. Each have their own pros and cons. Having different characters for each class in wow is cool for variety, but sucks when it comes to gearing them. I can't tell you how many times druid gear dropped while playing my warrior and vice versa.
You can solo in FFXI now, no need for douche parties if you really want to play an MMO by yourself. That point is no longer valid!

Parties of "old" FFXI used to be so fun, or maybe I'm looking through retrospective, rose-colored glasses.

When I think of partying in FFXI, I think of hours of colibri and Imp parties. No thanks.
