Fei from Xenogears.

He's a badass, he drives a badass giant robot, he sexes up a redhead pretty regularly, and he sometimes turns into a redhead who is even more of a badass than he is.

Persona 3 - Main Character

does that count?
Can you elaborate? What conflicts do you have to overcome? Besides the whole "real life" having sex part.
Kinda hard to answer that without spoiling it. (Cuz there was someone who wanted to play P3, i think that was you, row)

does having multiple personas count?

or the fact that MC is the mother *** hero

/trying to think which would be considered spoilers and which not

If you could be any video game character, who would you be? Everything that character did would also happen to you. Meaning: As a video game character who has the best life that you would love to have.

Note: No cop-out characters from little kid games that have no conflict in the games they are in. (I.E. Pokemon Gym Leaders or other NPCs that stand in one place all the time with little to no backstory)

I think Zidane has a pretty easy life. The only real bad thing he has to deal with is he's a clone from another planet and is supposed to destroy the world. He just gets really emo about that, but everything works out for him, he has friends to help him out, and he gets the girl.

ok, this person is my number 3...

The Joker in Batman:Arkham Asylum...

Not because he's the arch-enemy of the rubber suited pedophile. Not because he's the most clever villain of all time, or because he has a really hot assistant who he can nail on a regular basis. But because he gets to run around killing everyone while laughing hysterically and he wears really sharp clothing.

The point isn't really just to be someone you think is really cool. It should follow a game storyline to decide how "complete" their life is.

Did they do everything they wanted to do when the game ended? Where are they at now and what did they have to do to get there? Would you want to have done what they did to get to that point?
CJ Johnson took over San Andreas in the end, took over pretty much all the gang territory. He got rid of the Ballas and those mexican immigrants.

Brick made it to The Vault, slayed the Destroyer, but he didn't find no trasure, and THAT needed to change.

No, that's why I didn't comment on it.

Hmm it's tough for me to pick just one so I'll make a top 3 list (in no particular order).

Magnus Gallant from Ogre Battle 64 - Sure, he endured a lot. Fought his father a couple times, watched his childhood friend turn into pure evil, fought demons and ogres, ordered to kill innocent and oppressed lower class rebels, but in the end it's worth it. Not only does he save his country from the Holy Lodis Empire, but he also banishes the demons back to the netherworld. He makes amends with his father (who joins him), makes a bunch of new friends, frees the Bolmaukin slaves from Lodis, and also successfully completes the lower class revolution. Not to mention he kicks a lot of ***.

Thrall from Warcraft - Yes yes, he's an orc. Yes yes, he's in WoW. Badass? Yes please. He's a natural leader and strong warrior. He frees the orcs from their lethargy after their blood lust curse had been lifted. He springs them from the human prison of Durnholde, and crosses the sea to form a new life for the Orcs. His goal isn't revenge on the humans, but to live in harmony with them. He establishes the Orcs new home on Kalimdor and calls it Orgrimmar. He made a whole new life for his race upon these shores. Then he led the orcs to save the Tauren people of Mulgore and aid the Darkspear Trolls who were being cut down by their own kin. Even though in the newest WoW expansion he is no longer the Warchief, he's still the most badass Orc imo.

Orlandu from FFT - Need I really explain this one?

I'd say Captain Price from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series. That cantankerous old Scottish son of a *** is awesome. Tough as nails, he can even come back from the grave to kick some terrorist ***. Governmental backing? Who *** needs it?!

He has a strong vibe of what is right and wrong, and he's simply doing it because he actually gives a crap. But the best part about him is he's just so human. He knows very well that he is mortal and could have his end handed to him at any moment. He has his flaws, and he accepts them. Plus... yeah. He's kinda old. So I would definitely go with him.

I think looking cool should still be factored into that.

This.
I love characters who act human and not like how you expect a hero to be. An example being hope from FFXIII he is not the character I wan't to be but I love how human he is.
