if you want a direct download for albums you can try rapidshare or mediafire.
but finding single songs just isn't that practical anymore when you can download the whole album in 5 seconds anymore.
I just look on sites like Mediafire, Megaupload, etc and download .rar and .zip files for the album(s) I want and extract them with Winzip. I hate torrenting and only do it if it's the only option.
Depending the file and uploader, Mediafire offers you to download each song separately or the album as a whole, like the ihoneydew/joo people do.

normal peer to peer programs that currently are in place aren't trustable(like bearshare and limewire...lollimewire)
