I'd recommend including Buburimu/Xarcabard/Uleguerand in your leveling track for low level mobs. It's really the only reasonable way to get Infamy. :<

I enter Buburimu at level 10 with HNM status and stay there untl about 24. Then I drop Belligerency and head to Qufim until 30 or so, followed by Beaucedine until 38. 38 to 50 in Xarcabard with Belligerency before moving elsewhere.

The 10-24 and 38-50 stretches will get you a lot of Infamy. You just need to /sea the zone every so often to make sure no gladiators are around to take advantage of your low level.

Thanks for the tip. I usually do Bubu and Xarcabard, not much Uleguerand. With the double exp now I should take care of that easily. I just want to upgrade my Cerberus to Orthrus so tired of bubu
Yeah, I've leveled in Uleguerand before and it's definitely a good source of infamy, but the zone is annoyingly large and sometimes it puts you in a really inconvenient area full of aggressive mobs that are way too strong for the low level mob you're trying to xp. Because the gestation period under Belligerency is only a minute long, you end up having to relinquish and rezone until you get where you want. x.x

Don't even need to get the prize items. I just traded the crystals for the Spriggan.

Been lvling Slime >.> almost 30 no TP moves and is War only.

Slime Lv30
no TP moves still >.>
instinct 1
Attack +5 Haste +1% Potency of Cure received +3% Cost:1
It's a Slime. Of course it doesn't have TP attacks.

Actually slimes do get special attacks in the DQ games along with spells. I'm surprised we don't get any here. An example is Retaliate. It was first a Slime special move before it was added to WAR in FFXI.

So to get the slime, do you just trade crystals like for the spriggan?

Nope Slime take A LOT more work. Need to get 100 slime coins.

Good news with the event is you can make a party or Alliance and it counts for everyone no matter your range or who kills it, so just team up, spread out, kill, and you will fly through it.

60 Cockatrice + 60 Roc + 60 Hippogryph didn't trigger anything from Teyrnon

Going to continue Hippogryph to 90 to see if I open anything that way
Edit: Hippogryph 70 didn't open anything
Edit2: Hippogryph 75 didn't open anything

Nice. That and Cerberus I are really the only two instincts so far with attack and haste on them. And that one is arguably better considering it costs less and has 1 more haste.

Also, I'm not sure what level it was, but I got my standard bird to 60 and was able to buy Colibri for 5k infamy.

So I feel pretty silly for not realizing it sooner... I am level 68 Hippogryph and on Colliery Bats regular sneak attack does around 400 damage where as stacking sneak attack with fantod it does around 1800
Sneak attack + hoof volley is doing around 1400

How does the mimic on Colibri work? Just automatically recast the spell on the mob or does it store it for manual use?

Nice. That and Cerberus I are really the only two instincts so far with attack and haste on them.

Bee 3 and Fly 2 each give a bit of attack through STR, although Fly 2 is only 1% haste. :o Opo-opo 1 has a decent chunk of attack, but it's also only 1% haste. It's not much, but Raptor 1 has 5 attack and is really efficient for Haste vs. capacity points. I currently only use Bee 3 out of all of those though. XD

Personally, I've been working on a setup that caps Haste with the fewest total instinct slots. Using only the instincts with the highest Haste values (at least among those available before birds were released), you can get 26% Haste with only 7 slots.

Some of the best Haste instincts are obviously less than ideal for other stats, so I'm not sure if it's better to a) replace them with multiple low-Haste instincts or b) to keep the efficiency setup and use the extra slots for instincts that actually focus on the other stats. This is all assuming that Instinct Haste has the same cap as Equipment Haste, which might not even be the case. D:

Wow, got Hoof Volley on Hippogryph at level 50, and it has 400% dmg for 200 TP. Does around 900-1000 dmg, lol. Most dmg I've ever had on any move on a mob's WS, lol.

Some of the Three-hitter moves I've used have been reasonably rediculous... Jet Stream and Claw Storm hitting upper 1100 under favorable circumstances.

Also, I'm only level 25, but Spriggan is stupid fun to level. Its TP move is...

Frenetic Flurry - Delivers an Eightfold Attack.

Its every bit as OP as it sounds... My normal hits doing like 60-70 and It'll do about 500-550 ... Its so epic... I love double exp campaigns.

this whole post is praise \o/

I haven't touched upon leveling it yet, but i'm willing to wager possessing a colibri won't actually have the counter cast. Especially since not every colibri actually does it. The lesser and normal colibri, for example. I feel like that was just a gimmicky thing they added to make aht urhgan more unique. But I guess you never know.. If anyone has tried colibri, please feel free to prove me wrong. I'm probably not touching it until I get roc and hippo to 60.

And wow, just wow. I'm only 24 and can already say Hippogryph is right up there with the best mobs to play. Fantod is ridiculous and is catastrophic combined with sneak attack. And it doesn't even stop there, later it'll have full use of everything black mage is capable of. Sleepga would be absolutely deadly for anyone going up against this in pvp.

Right now I have Hippogryph 75 and I will be working on Roc next. (67 at the moment) I will post if anything opens once I get to 75. If someone else is leveling a combination of these two and beats me to 75 and opens nothing please let me know so I can change to Cockatrice

I now have Hippogryph and Roc level 75.
When I hit 75 Roc Teyrnon had an option to sell me "Gagana" skin for 15000 infamy. There was no option so far for Amphiptere.
The strange part is that Roc is a medium sized monster, but Gagana skin says it is a large size... but I didn't get any bigger
Gagana is BLM/BRD and has access to Dread Wind

Okay, I got roc and trice to 75 and didn't see anything, did hippo last and was able to buy amphitere. It's probably safe to assume Roc is needed, but if anyone really wants to confirm it, level that last.
