I agree entirely, and wasn't saying that they were--they have valid reasons for taking the game in this direction (even if I would have done things somewhat differently) that have nothing to do with subscription numbers. The gear ladder we're getting is pretty different from WoW's and the other games that emulate it, if the picture that's starting to emerge of the game's future is at all accurate.
