Anyone else having problems with paying for there FFXI? ive been paying with crysta, ive tried paying with Debit card, Paypal and even went and bought one of those prepaid walmart credit cards and all froms of payment has been declined....HELP!!!! ill be shut off in 6 days if i dont get this fixed and lord knows i will not be back if im shut down over stupid ***like this.

I use the same card and the jp services. Never had an issue. However, just make sure your address that you entered is the same exact address that is registered with the card.

I actually just buy the crystas and then use the crystas to pay for the service.

I *** hate playspan...i have now tried all options listed except for the game card option....gonna go tommarow to game stop and get a game card playspan SUCKS!!!!

It's funny someone else has posted about this problem now. I figured it wasn't likely to happen to many people. It has nothing to do with his card or his bank. Playspan has some very strict automated security policies. He did something that their system flagged as a "high risk of fraud", so they cut off pretty much any payment method that might bite them in the *** should they be correct. The same ***happened to me recently, and I haven't been able to pay for my wife's account for 2 months. I contacted their customer service and they won't do anything but tell you very politely and professionally that you are a financial risk and you have to buy Ultimate Game Cards for any payments you want to make; no matter how many conversations you have with them. We just said screw it and cancelled the account. It's kinda sad to say bye to SE, but this was just the straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak, in our case. Gonna cancel my account some time this week. SE support will tell you "Sorry, we cannot help you. You must contact Play span customer support." We had just gotten back into FFXI an few months ago for the first time since 04 (I was enjoying it...her, obviously not), and we both had legacy accounts for XIV, but we can't put up with that kind of customer support.


But yeah, go buy ultimate game cards at a store if you want to pay for your account. For the record, this is what occurred in my case: bought $50 of crysta in Apr and $50 in May for my account, both to pay for mules and so I wouldn't need to add crysta for a while. Then I tried to also pay for my wife's account in May, and Playspan decided I was a criminal.

It's not only you, have had problems with playspan for about a month now, they have been having to push the cards/game cards through thierself because it simply won't accept anything I give them. Send them emails and maybe they will notice they need to fix something.

Actually I had this problem with another game and Playspan.

My sister sent me an AMEX gift card for my birthday. I decided to buy some stuff on this game. It got declined. I tried it again, declined. Thinking that it was probably just the gift card (which wouldn't make sense since I've used gift cards before), I decided to give up and use the card for something else.

The card got declined for "insufficient funds". Was like "WTFinghell".

So I called my sister, who called AMEX and she told me that the reason why the card was getting declined was because of two transactions by Playspan.

Lemme let that sink in for you. Playspan charged me for both times, and I didn't get the credit on the game. I eventually got the money back, but I basically washed my hands of anything Playspan. If I can't use my debit card and if I can't get game cards, then I won't bother.

That's what I've always done for XI mostly, just used UltimatePay and bought that particular amount I needed for each month. I didn't usually buy for more than one month at a time, in case I got tired of the game and that it wouldn't go to waste.

I'll probably do the same method for XIV once ARR starts

LOL you had me a little paranoid this morning, so I checked my recent statements to make sure this didn't happen to me too. I don't doubt you at all, but thankfully there were no errant charges against my accounts. Still, I've washed my hands of anything Playspan as well. It's sad that they are the only payment method SE will have starting next month. I never figured I'd rather use ClickandBuy over UltimatePay, but I'll never use UltimatePay again; gamecards or anything else for that matter.

They did the same thing to me recently. Paid for XI, then they cut me off after a few days and kept telling me my card was declined. After contacting them a couple times, they basically said, "If it doesn't work with you, oh well!"

This!!!! I emailed playspan customer support and it would seem that because my orignal card got blocked due to California scams hitting my bank im now flagged as a high risk fraud anytime im using any service with my name on it...

I tried 3 cards, i tried paypal, im also just trying to buy crysta...

They told me to buy a game card and it should go though..

Nearest retailler of game card in my area is 30 miles away!!! so i buy one off walmart.com that walmart says will be delivered on monday via email...


BEYOND STUPIED!!! I not only blame playspan and square but I also blame all of the Retards who are too lazy to get off there *** and get a real job so they resort to credit card scams and theft to get 10-15 dollars a month.....

OK that it im done with FFXI enjoy the game all!!!!

Just drove 30 miles to get a game card get home try to use it to buy crysta, every thing goes though up till when it ask me to confirm payment and when i click to confirm it tells me they have denied payment $25 down the drain SE and playspan can go to hell im canceling my preorder for 14 as well.

I just bought a Ultimate Game card at walmart, it processed up to the point where you comfirm payment then when you click to comfirm the card is denied.

Just got off the phone with playspan. For furture updates if anyone trys it. If you attempt to pay with credit card and your declined do not attempt agian for 24hr with any other option multi attempts to pay for your crysta will be flaged as a fraud case that they cannot remove from your account.

At this point you will be required to purcahse the game cards, however DO NOT use game card the day that you tried to pay with another option it will not process and will block your account for 24hrs.

With all the payment issues and problems since they phased out POL and brought in the SE account system and the crysta/click and buy/other options.....sticking with POL based accounts and proper dorect payment optiona woulda been better in the long run lol
