You could also use Tactician's before the fight for the same effect but why not stack both when one is guaranteed whereas the other depends on landing on XI for optimal results?

Mocchi: GEO/RUN (and other jobs) Armor Follow-up

We plan for the monsters to be defeated in the quests to be popped NMs. We will also be adding bayld exchange equipment at item level 106. If you possess that equipment and weapons from Skirmish or better (item level 105), the difficulty of defeating these should be fine for six or fewer people.

I had previously forgot about it, but the AF quests generally start with a weapon instead of armor. Is there any plan to add weapons to these jobs? Perhaps the weapons shown on the Adoulin website?
As in the past, the quest series will begin with a weapon, not armor. For Geomancers this will be a club and for Rune Fencers it will be a great sword. The items levels for each will be the same as for the armor.

The job-specific equipment shown for rune fencer and geomancer on the Adoulin website are something else besides artifact and will be added at another time.

  • Item level of GEO and RUN AF
    Previously, we stated that the item level for the artifact armor for these two jobs would be 105. To balance them appropriately with the bayld equipment to be added at the same time, we've changed these to item level 109.

  • Other GEO and RUN job-specific equipment
    For equipment which corresponds to the Empyrean and Relic armor that other jobs can obtain, it is scheduled to be added at some point in the future.

  • Job-specific equipment for existing jobs
    We have plans to add job-specific equipment for existing jobs in the future.

I have a bit of information to share with you about in regards to rune fencer and geomancer artifact equipment.

  • About the quest to obtain artifact equipment
    The quest monsters you will need to fight in order to obtain rune fencer and geomancer artifact equipment will be a trigger popped monster.

    In the next version update we will be adding item level 106 weapons and armor which can be purchased with Bayld, so by possessing these items, or Skirmish grade weapons (level 105), these quests can be undertaken with less than 6 people.

    As many of you have been wondering, just like previous artifact equipment quests, these new quests will begin with the artifact weapon. Rune fencers will receive a nice shiny great sword, while geomancers will receive a club and bell. These will be roughly the same item level as the equipment.

  • Item level for rune fencer and geomancer artifact equipment
    Previously we had mentioned that the item level for rune fencer and geomancer artifact equipment would be 105; however, due to the fact that we will be implementing the Bayld items mentioned above, we have decided to change the level to 109.

  • Rune fencer and geomancer job-specific equipment
    We'll introduce relic and empyrean armor for rune fencer and geomancer in the future.

They are adding an item level system to work around your level 99 cap limitation.

No the new level tags are simply an indication of the level range of the gear IF we had uncapped levels.

Look, it's not my fault you have crustacean-level mental capacity, but I guess it does explain why you're so crabby about this whole regain thing. CORs do not use Tactician's except for between fights because they can only do two things at once and their other offerings are much more potent. GEO is in the exact same boat.

Geomancy Regain might be used occasionally during Bolster, but even then -66/256 defense down and -80+ evasion is much more useful for any content where you'd want to bring a Geomancer in the first place. Also, using a geomancy regain spell would require an additional rotation (CORS, BRDs are already rotating, and now you'd need to switch a buffer with GEO) when GEO could have been sitting in the mage party and helping the whole alliance instead of one party.

Can't see a reason why they wouldn't have Run and Geo AF added to the list of storable items on Slip 04 at release, so inventory shouldn't be a concern.
A slip for Bayld/Wildkeeper/Fracture boss gear would be nice though.

Don't understand the rage over not having Regain. Personally hope we don't ever get it, will save me from explaining to people why it shouldn't be used. As someone said above, maybe if its able to get up to a high enough (8+) base, it would be useful when bolstered in a 6 man event, but bolstering Torpor or Frailty is much more potent for alliance content.

It's item level and not job level. Don't know if you've played or not but if you have, Diablo 2 and 3 should have you familiar with ilvl. The higher the item level is the better Tier quality, so progression can continue beyond level caps, basically.

They're adding Skirmish II at a higher content level, but everything they are adding is lower than Delve Boss (20).

Skirmish is extremely easy to do, and very quick, making it a good stopgap while you're working on the higher tier. Past that point though you can forget abuot it..

Even if they add Skirmish II it's still pretty weird to have stuff directly purchasable with Bayld be higher level than Skirmish I stuff. I mean, yeah, Delve stuff's too easy to get so it's not like it even matters, but just from a progression design standpoint it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
