If I could liken the XboxOne with anything, it'd be President Obama. The promise of hope for a new generation, but ultimately unimpressive while barely evading any truly fatal mistakes. Nah more like Mitt Romney. Sylph.Michizane said: » Odin.Zicdeh said: » Sylph.Michizane said: » Microsoft's new motto: Shooting ourselves in the foot isn't good enough. Mitt Romney is more like Nvidia's console, just *** weird. Looks like this turned into a politics thread. That sucks.

Consoles are politics, seriously think about it. RabblerabbleXBOXrabble DerpeyderpSONYderp. And somewhere PC elitists are the loudest, but only have 2 seats in the senate so they just side with Microsoft. Well at least we can all agree Romney was a joke I guess...
/waits for someone to defend Romney... anyways... why is realistic armhair needed in video games?
*edit* And also can we shoot the puppy in the new CoD? I wanna shoot the puppy :D *edit2* Btw Shoot the Puppy is the new multiplayer mode in this one. Enjoy! Sylph.Michizane said: » Well at least we can all agree Romney was a joke I guess... /waits for someone to defend Romney... I had a comment lined up about magic underwear, but I really didn't want to turn this into a religious shitstorm. Photorealism is insanely overrated. The only thing I could think with the EA sports showcase on the XBONE reveal was "WELCOME TO THE UNCANNY VALLEY", especially because they really *** up the eyes. Sylph.Michizane said: » anyways... why is realistic the Puppy is the new multiplayer mode in this one. Enjoy! I was going to suggest they have a "Release the Hounds" Killstreak in COD:G but I think they already did that. Ya, I also hate in games with a lot of speed involed (Sonic Unleashed in this case) you have so many diffirent colors on the screen things start to become a blur and you miss deadly objects or power ups because of it. Be amazed I still use commas and periods.
how does the system look?
not going to backread, so explain to me in funny pics! :D Bismarck.Misao said: » how does the system look? not going to backread, so explain to me in funny pics! :D No shooting of the puppy! I don't know what you're talking about, but I don't condone violence against puppies. I fully support puppies against violence, however. =D
In his defense, EA is an equal opportunities employer with a developmentally disabled quota to reach.

Looking to trade my i7 OC 4.4ghz,32gb OC PC2133 DDR3,SLI GTX690,3x 27" 1920x1080 144hz setup for a ps4 + xbone since apparently they're better.... EA are *** idiots Valefor.Angierus said: » The only thing this coming generation of consoles has up on my current PC, is PS4s unified GDDR5 ram. That's about it. Pretty sure everything else I have in my current PC is above Xbox Done and PS4. FTFY Since current GPUs have GDDR5 as well and the need/use of ram,its moot anyways Shiva.Gib said: » But again, it's a hardware reveal. I swear I have no idea what people were thinking. Plus this wasn't just for gamers to watch and gawk at, it's also for journalists and investors, just saying that too, it wasn't even open to the general public. I mean, did you watch the PS4 announcement? it was basically SHARING, SHARING, SHARING, SHARING, CONTROLLER, ANNOUNCING SEQUELS NO ONE CARES ABOUT, YEAR OLD TECH DEMOS, PEACE WE OUT. Did you seriously think this would be different? I might be showing my age here, but did you see the PS3 and 360 unveiling? pretty much same stuff. were people expecting a Halo 5 Let's play or something? Personally I would have been disapointed if they did blow their load on this when there is an event that is 20 times bigger thats happening in 2 weeks. I think the key difference between Sony's reveal and Microsoft's is the way they ended. Microsoft ran COD out there, yay, COD:2013 who didn't see that coming? Now here we are making puppy jokes. Whereas Sony ran Bungie out there to unveil their brand new IP, Destiny. It was basically sticking it to Microsoft because yes it is multiplatform, the fact is it shouldn't be. Bungie should still be an exclusive dev for Microsoft, had M$ allowed Bungie to move on from Halo they would have Destiny as a huge exclusive next gen title. But they didn't, Bungie ran to Activision, and Sony jumped on it. Now its being hyped as a PS4 game, the gameplay premiere was just announced to occur at E3 during the Sony conference, and PS4 is getting exclusive content that isn't first DLC. Pretty sure everything else I have in my current PC is above Xbox Done and PS4. Okay, I'm playing devil's advocate here, because I totally think the EA CTO is full of PR ***. Having said that, there's a lot more that goes into performance than just the hardware. You can't just line up hardware stats and say which one will perform better, because there's a whole software layer that needs to be understood first. My PC has better physical hardware than my Xbox360, but my Xbox360 still runs Skyrim better. The only affect the new console generation is going to have on actual hardcore pc gamers,is in a few years when they stop making dual gen (ps3/360 + ps4/xbone) releases of every almost every game,we'll see noticable increases in pc hardware usage. Almost every modern pc game is a joke, and that is in part the "baseline" design made for old pc's of similar spec as modern consoles,so they can both run them. Taking advantage of new hardware and all is great, but there are still limits we get on almost pc games because of things from the opposite end. Once we see exclusive (re:next gen/pc only) titles we'll start getting more use at the top end of our hardware and see the benefits that a simply DX11 patch doesnt bring.

I think Cross-Gen titles will taper out pretty fast actually. You're being a little pessimistic even by my standards. Hell, some of the best PC games could be defined as "Cross Gen". Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is an amazing PC exclusive running on entirely outdated hardware. Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is an amazing PC exclusive running on entirely outdated hardware. Look at the ps2 and how long that lasted into this generation. EA (and I expect other devs to follow suit until MASS adoption of next gen) have already said they will be releasing cross gen games until 2017. I'm not a pessimist,I've paid attention to how companies progressively *** us over. I'm a realist We aren't dealing with Nintendo here who basically just discontinued the Wii before the Wii U was even out, I would expect cross gen titles to come out until at least 2015. Look at all of the PS3 exclusives that are coming out this year, at least 5 AAA titles, its reasonable to assume they a few of them will get sequels. EA as usual are idiots because its easy for them to say they will support cross gen till 2017, when all they will do is release a rehashed sports game for every console.

There was no Oblivion for the Xbox or PS2 There was no Bioshock for the Xbox or PS2 There was no Mass Effect for the Xbox or PS2 Good developers make the best games they can make and that's how it really works. If you want to phone in every movie licensed title that was released on everything with a pixel to show it on, be my guest, but you're delusional. |
