To the BST community:

any thoughts on how the new weapons and the coming updates will affect the usefuless of pets?

What i'm getting at is - what does everyone think about the large increases in base damage on weapons with respect to the ability for pets to put out damage? Pets may account for a much lesser fraction of a BST's overall DPS since their potential to do damage remains limited by their base damage, while our weapons base damage increases by such a large margin. just to give a rough idea of what i'm getting at:

prior to SoA content:
bst axe base damage: 60s~80s
pet base damage: 120s~131

post SoA content:
bst axe base damage(new axes): 130-153+(?)
pet base damage: 120s~131

PUPs get a new animator that gives +a lot to stats, while the content out so far doesn't show any promising boosts to our pets. Maybe pet output will improve when they release new our new SP abilities etc.

food for thought.

Personally I'm still giddy that there's so many new mobs we can charm, heh. But yes, hmm, I haven't heard anything new about boosting our jug pets to match the increase. I'm not sure how I feel about it - it's always been a sort of juggling game for me. Either I want to do good damage, which doesn't always happen cuz BST isn't all that great of a DD-output unless you're supreme overlord, or I want the pet to do good damage, in which I wear all my crazy relevant pet boosting equipment. Having a mixture of the two isn't great so it's either one or the other. I think with new axes and stuff, it will help even out the damage discrepancy between master and his pet, so even if you're all geared out for your pet with haste, double attack, etc, you can still put out your fair share of omfg-i-so-slow damage. Just keep them pdt axes on hand as usual.

God I love charming stuff.
