Good luck to you on your future endeavors! I totally understand your decision to quit MMO's for good...I kinda feel the same way. FFXI is a blast, and I'll definitely miss my in-game friends quite a bit when I do quit the game for good, but it must be liberating to NOT wake up everyday and think "Gotta get home from work, eat quick, then I got Dynamis from X to X, then Nyzul, then <fill in the blank>"
