just to put this out there ... dont under estimate a decent gfx card for ffxi....

when i tried my old/cheap card in (4.4gig oc i5) i was getting 20 ish FPS in jeuno (very jumpy) - multiboxed

then stuck my msi twin frozr 3 in .. im stuck at 29.9 FPS on all accounts at full settings/hug res/over sampled

moral of the story - quality of gfx card does matter in ffxi - its not just ALL cpu driven.

About to get the last of my PC parts thru UPS tomorrow was wondering how my system will fare for future games and 14.

CPU Intel i5 4670K
Z87-G45 Motherboard
GPU Asus HD Radeon 7850 OC
8GB Corsair Veng RAM
Seasonic 650W PSU
Corsair H60 Watercooling
Phantom 410 Mid-Tower case

The rest of the components I'll be using from my current PC. I do not know much about building a PC but I've been doing some research and am learning bit by bit. So don't be too harsh if I made any wrong choices haha ^^; Anyways any feedback would be great! :) Thanks in advance

you might struggle with 14 maximum a bit.

I'm currently using a 7870 GHz edition and i get 45~60fps on maximum in 14.

Don't get me wrong you will still be able to do maximum in 14, you just might not hit 60fps consistantly.

other than the gpu, everything else looks legit, grats on your nice build.

Ah, nice to know :) Thanks. Was actually considering refunding the GPU and getting a 660ti but I'm not sure if I should even bother. I mean I'll mainly be playing XI and 14 on this PC. If KH3 even comes out for the PC I want to be able to play that on Ultra settings aswell.

Keep FFXI to a old PC, You will run into many problems with current GPUs. For FFXIV, 660 TI isn't bad but the 670 or higher should 9-10k maximum pretty easily.

Radeon has no issue's with ff11 as far as i know. Pretty sure it's mostly newer nvidia cards that have that problem.

You could have spent the extra cash and gotten a 7870XT, basically a 7930 lol. much more powerful than a 7870 and it's only 250$

I was reading somewhere that the Asus HD Radeon 7850 DCII is a really good OC card and can almost reach 7870 Levels. Seems good for the price is the reason why I went with it. I'm still learning tho hehe, seemed like a good choice.

7870 > 7850 OC > 660 > 7850? Look right? honestly been really interested in this, loving the learning experience.

Finished my PC build, man does it ever feel good to do it with your own two hands :). Scored 8120 Max on FFXIV benchmark hehe. Anyone know a good program to check my CPU temps? I'm assuming during BIOS it isn't an accurate test as it puts it under full load no?

Have a concern when I ran the benchmark I noticed a "ghost horizontal line" messed with the graphics a bit but this only happens when I run graphic intense videos, but during game play max settings, everything runs perfectly. I'm using the VGA adapter that came with the Graphics card wondering if that's the problem and if switching to an HDMI cable would fix this problem? Downloaded all the latest drivers from the AMD website for the 7850. Any feedback would be great ^^; Thanks in advance for any responses!

I use this to check temps while running software.

Oh and MSI Afterburner to check GPU temps and manually adjust the fan speed.

Nope, other than updating your drivers which you did IDK what to say.
Oh, but switch to HDMI so you can run a higher res, VGA is crap.

Ah, so me trying to run on higher res with VGA could be it? I'm pretty sure if the GPU was bad it everything would be messing up.

Does anyone have any suggestions for already built computers? I was looking at the Dell Inspiron 660, but the price seems too good to be true?

Very terrible GPU, plus it's a Dell. You can get a $600 PC with a 650/660 GTX with a custom build.

Had a question, apparently I scored a 9300 on benchmark 1920x1080 resolution with intel i5 4670K and HD 7850 Overclocked but when I lower the resolution I got a lower number on my benchmark. Was wondering if anyone knew why that was. Thanks in advance for your replies!

Also Ghaleon doesn't appear to me I'll have a problem getting 60 fps at max hehe, averaged 80 fps on benchmark ^^ had me worried hehe.
