Do you think with the added ability to get dyna coins from campaign, the price of coins will fall?
Depends on how commonly they drop in campaign.
Im thinking by around 500-1k, nothing dramatic seeing how it doesn't seem soloable.

Alot of us still think they are still special and worth getting. Jeunosmule said: Coins are worthless now guys, relics are so 2005. Quit game, have a rest.. come back recharged for FFXIV. Apoc still remains the best non-zerg drk weapon in the game... Any relic that was good still is. Any relic that was lol still is.
Haseyo said: Aegis is so outdated! Don't forget Mandau and Gjallarhorn! I think the prices will stay the same.. the ability to get them from doing campaign will make more people want them, thinking its easier to get relic, which will keep prices the same or increase them.
I doubt getting them from campaign will make people randomly want to go after a Relic - the price is still stupid high. Not all of us walk around with 150mil+ and nothing to do with it.

To quote a film: "You're not a beautiful or unique snowflake" LOL >> You wouldn't say that if you knew Taint...

To quote a film: "You're not a beautiful or unique snowflake" LOL What you just said makes no sense. More accessible to people = more people going for a relic = demand is increasing. Relics will never ever be accessible to people, market will auto regulate itself. If supply grows too much, new demand will automatically appears, price will remains high, and as usual, most of people will give up even before stage 4, keeping the currency sink high and maintaining prices high. Yeah, but how many are going to be giving up on the ***now that FFXIV is coming out? According to a lot of people here, apparently quite a few...
So, another source of currency, less demand because all the hardcore peeps are jumping ship so they can plant their flag and say "First!!!" in the new one... Less overall players will mean that supply will drop too. Again, market will autoregulate itself, can remove half of population, demand will be cut in half sure, but same goes for supply. But it's not like the price to enter endgame stuff will cut in half. Wouldn't it cause an issue?

True...but are you going to need a Dyna sized group to get currency in Campaign? We don't know...but if you don't, that's a factor, too. If a ***ton of small groups are getting currency (and there isn't the time limitations like there are with dynamis) then the market could easily be oversaturated... Let's say price of coins goes from ~12K average to 6K average, more people will want to upgrade, price will rise again.
And even if price would drop and remains static @ 6K, still mean you'd need 90 *** millions to upgrade a relic, how's that accessible for everyone ? Usually people who have 90M are able to get 180M, not an issue for them. Oh also, by lowering coin price, you're lowering interest of player for dynamis, meaning supply will drop. Some lowman shell just do dynamis cause it's easy profit, AF are a bonus for them. If tomorrow they get shitty profit, they won't even bother doing 3hr30 of dynamis. Less coins will be injected into the economy. I said if it makes it even a tiny bit more accessible, not "the dude that plays once a week" can get one in a month...
Its all speculation as of now. They could either make it a common drop trying to flood the market to make it more accessible OR make it rare as feck.
No clue if were going to see single currency or 100 pieces. Its just wait til the dust settles and hope for the best. *Nods.* I think this will just be a way for people to make some nice gil when it's first implemented. If you get say 50 coins distributed among everyone per battle, prices will fall for awhile until demand overcomes the supply. Then you'll simply see the price rise again to what it was before, or close to it.
Right now the prices on Fairy are: 7-8k per Byne and 750-800k per 100. 11-13k per Bronze/White and 1.2-1.3 mil per Silver/Jade. Just look at what happened to currency and ABC prices when the dyna and limbus entry fees were halved. NOTHING! The prices haven't changed for ***in years even with it costing everyone half as much to obtain them, so I doubt this will have any major effect.
Didn't the prices of coins go up when Dynamis cost to go in droped to 500k instead of 1mil?

Windy and Sandy coins seem to have added another 5k to them also (12K and 15K each at least) on Fairy. If Dynamis is so outdated then Why are there still so many shells doing the runs? :P A few pieces still hold their own against the new stuff. Yes FFIV is coming out but it still hasnt hit Beta so expect at least a year. The price of the Coins did indeed go up after the price of the Timeless Hourglass dropped to 500k.

Yes FFIV is coming out but it still hasnt hit Beta so expect at least a year. Number of shells running doesn't matter, whats matter is how many city runs you do, only these yield a decent amount of coin. Beau is average. Xar and dreamland are ***tier, mostly because you waste 20 to 40min during the pre-boss phase in dreamland, which gets you almost no coin at all, then cause the run last only 2hr. Tav also don't get a decent amount of coin. If I take a look at my shell, we've been doing like Dreamland only since hourglass price dropped, did couple of Xar, that's it. No to mention the more dreamland you do, the more -1's you inject into the market. -1's drains coins too. Usually when we do a Dreamland run, the coin balance is negative, meaning we get less coins total, that what would be needed to upgrade all the -1's which dropped during that run. (unless 100's drop off course). In b4 who the *** upgrade -1's. Even if stats increase is most of the time useless, people who get drop do upgrade their AF, just cause it looks nicer to have a white box. And well since it's dropping, why not upgrading it ? Just like people freelot shitty armor. |
