Lilisette, Aphmau, Prishe/Ulmia, Lion etc. Mostly missions NPCs that you can't see whenever you want. Aside from missions npcs I like Areuhat, Lutete, and Nyomomo (all of windy's generals in WOTG are cool imo). Currently, since I am zerging Sandoria missions I have to say my favorite NPC is Claudie for the sheer fact you almost never see her. She's elegant and all those nice little things. I tend to like NPCs that can make me giggle sometimes like Abquhbah. Most are so unimportant you could really care less.

I really want to see who's really stronger--him or Shantotto. And then there's Robel-Akbel who freaking casts magic on a chocobo. D: Also I saw some TOTALLY AWKWARD drawing of Shantotto looking at a picture of Ajido and like going all wishy-washy, and someone sees her and she beats the crap out of them. Twas funny.

My favorite is Naja Salaheem. She's such a ***! Also, the dynamics of her relationship with Abquhbah crack me up. The worst part about completing the ToAU missions and Assault rankups is no more Naja cutscenes. :(

Elvira- 90% of the campaigns I've been to she owns the mobs while her army is idle. Plus she solo SC's!
Ayame and Kaede- I like the storylines they are in.
There's a 3rd but his name escapes me atm >.> All I remember is he sings about sticking a flag into a turtle's grave.

Not sure if NPCs from cutscenes count, but I love the 3 tarutaru from the CoP missions. They're really cute and funny. Especially when they say, "You're so ugly!!" etc. :)

Also, forgot the Campaign Battle NPC for Sandy named "Noillurie." Has awesome quotes and is a dead sexy elf samurai that rocks an Amano. lol

I like the young griffons from the WotG Sandy mission related quests, I am not too far yet, but they talk some ***to the orcs and get into some fights. I was actually enjoying the missions because of them, even though I am allied with Basty... Stuck on the dragon fight in "Purple, the new black" though...
What's your favorite FFXI NPC, and why?
My favorite is definitely Shantotto. She's insane, and completely full of herself. Also yay Windurst!
**SPOILER ALERT**
Several of my favorite scenes with her include WotG where she more or less ruins Lehko's tactics and blows things up with her magic (laughing while casting... sooooooo awesome) and apparently hi-jacked a unit of War Warlocks. I wouldn't say no to Shantotto <.<;;. I also enjoyed the various scenes in ToAU (I still haven't finished it...) but I have to say her and the Cardian absolutely amuse me.
