Elemental Belts/gorgets

Totally noob question but could someone please explain to me how these work? Like one WS will say aligned with Light, Breeze, and Thunder. I don't understand how you know which one to use, or does it matter?

look up the specific WS on the wiki/bg wiki or if you know what SC elements it has. Those elements are which gorget to use. IE Tachi Kasha closes fusion, so you can use flame gorget.

It says aligned to multiple because those weapons skills can close numerous different skill chains. (Use a Different belt for diff skill chain) Depends what weapon skill is being used to start/ close the skill chain and what your skill chain is. Each weapon skill can correspond to different Belt/gorgets. You could have say 3 diff belt/gorgets for the same weapon skill. For instance: if your say using verethranga -Victory smite most of the time you will be closing a light skill chain or transflixion. so locate the corresponding belt/gorget for that SC. Best advice: find the skill chain you most often make with common weapon skills and get belts/gorgets for them.

Ok, so if I'm using Upheaval, it makes no difference if I use flame, light, or shadow? Sorry if I just repeated what you just said, I'm just trying to understand. lol

Yes, the gorgets/belts just work, as long as you are using one that aligns.
