as a DRK main, I approve of this. This way, everyone's getting a chance to have a piece of the pie with /DRK without harming the main job.

at first glimpse I was freaking out that we were losing 10% JA Haste and that DB merits would be 1% per point, but I calmed the hell down once I realized that DB merits will still add 10%.

Thank goodness too, because after reading this, i'm glad SE is starting to learn that nerfs = bad, in any form.

Personally, I like the Main / Support job system, so adjustments that make additonal jobs situationally useful as support jobs get my seal of approval.

I'm a lil confused as to how this opens up /drk though. Sub sam still offers the same JA haste no? But you also get the STPs, and meditate and sekkanoki. I'm just not seeing this being as big a bonus as they are trying to make it out to be.

You can now cap JA haste as SAM/DRK.

It's a buff to Koga Sam!
Ryuno DRG also get a nice boost from it for shorter fights.

But lose all of the DA and zerk of /war. And couldn't you cap JA haste with AF3+2 haidate anyways?

Last resort gives 15% attack and Shoha has an attack bonus. Also, getting 25% JA haste is better than 12.5% JA haste and 10% DA, especially if you're a Kogarasumaru Samurai.

Not that it matters with lol abyssea making exp moot...

But if you get 15% haste from LR alone, that is one hell of a fun JA to have at level 15.

I thought sam could hit the delay cap with haste, march and hasso. Is this not correct?

Then getting 12.5% extra haste means you can drop 12.5% haste from your gear when LR is up, same thing DRK does now that helps make it super.

Yeah, but is that REALLY necessary? I mean hypothetically, I don't see any gear swaps for DA/TA/QA/Whatever that you wouldn't be using in the first place. I mean.. ya COULD TP with windbuffet, but I'm not sure that's really worth it. Or is it? Especially from a Kogara sam viewpoint. You don't really want to devalue your Oat3, ya? You want that to proc or have the highest chance to proc, ya?

Who said this was "new" content? This is simply adjusted content. You have to re-balance stuff, when you do introduce new content (weapons, new WSs, and such). So what was your point exactly?

Double Attack is still an improvement over Mythic AM3.

Well I know it takes precedence, but I just don't see what dropping that 12% haste would do for your builds, ya know?

An early contender for post of 2013 appears!

No, no. Mythic AM3 averages at 1.8 hits / round, so DA still increases your average.

No, I get that Sy. But I'm still finding it hard to look through gear pieces, that would improve your DPS, in lue of the haste. Windbuffet was really all I could think of, as well as maybe TPing in Omodaka Sune-ate? 3% DA, 2 TA 1 QA. Will that outweigh /war's DA/Zerk/Aggressor/Warcry though?

Question: all the speculation reguarding /DRK assumes Hasso and LR(JA haste) stack and also it has no restriction to only 2-handers?

It's probably going to work out as:

Marches? --> Sub WAR, have a nice day.
No Marches? --> Sub DRK

This is a topic that has been discussed in several threads, particularly one about dark knight being too powerful.

Simply put, this adjustment will allow you to gain this effect in the case you use dark knight as your support job.

How does this even follow? DRK is too powerful, lets make it a viable support job?

Also..

We are envisioning to make it so 1 merit point will yield a 65% status modifier, and each point afterwards will grant an addition 5% for a maximum of 85% (no changes to the max value).

Aren't the modifiers currently 100% when they are 5/5?

after alpha (which to my understand is a step in the damage formula) "100" is really 85 in reality, I believe is how it goes.

LR haste never had a 2h restriction to begin with, while hasso always has. And all JA haste stacks up until the cap, no reason they won't.
