What would the best offhand be for dual wield WAR using Ruinator with the new delve axe?

I've been using Kerehcatl offhand. As WAR-usable axes go it seems to have a good range of stats with damage/delay/skill/attack/accuracy. I haven't crunched any numbers on it though.

I have been using 2 of the Emxgha, for content where you have only a small amount of buffs and attack is far from cap like Tenzen and delve tree, Ruinator is amazing for it. Even when my axes were unaugmented i was parsing higher than career SAM's allmost every time.

Yeah I've found I do a lot better with Ruinator than either Ukko's or Upheaval pretty much all the time. I'm sure I'll be told I'm doin' it wrong, but I certainly don't get any complaints.

I've recently snagged a second Emxgha myself. I was thinking of taking this one down path B since accuracy is a bigger deal these days, but it's really tempting to just do path A on this one too.

I've crunched a ton of math behind this and Ruin wins whenever your not being super buffed with songs. The 10% from Hasso is a really big DPS increase, but only if your getting enough magical haste to make it worthwhile. If your off solo, with trust NPCs, not being super buffed or being force to /NIN, Ruin really kick a$$. Though on anything I'm force to /NIN for I'm usually doing Bravura spamming MT for the AM effect.

The paths are

Path A: Att +10 Str +7 Dmg +3
Path B: Acc +10 Dex +7 Dmg +3
Path C: Att +10 Acc +10 Pet Att +15

I would think Path C is the best over all as 3 DMG isn't much compared to the 164 it already has. So maybe do Path A for the main hand and Path C for the off hand.

I'm glad someone out there is paying attention to the DW axe situation on WAR. Looks like path C is a go for me then. Thanks!

Ruinator works just like resolution so just use that if you have one. Different gorgets but otherwise you toss on as much STR and attack / MA as you can.

And bladeborn/steelflash instead of brutal/moonshade.

I'll have to make that change asap.

I had a question for TP set while I'm at it. Brutal/Suppa or Dudgeon/Heartseeker?

I have been using TP Bonus for acc sets as TP affects acc, idk how much by though, DA earring could still be more acc. With marches, haste, suppa and pantentia sash your capping total delay reduction. I cant use spreadsheets atm but these are the gearsets im using

sets.TP.Emxgha = {
main="Emxgha",
sub="Emxgha",
ammo="Yetshila",
head="Felistris Mask",
neck="Asperity Necklace",
ear1="Suppanomimi",
ear2="Brutal Earring",
body="Xaddi Mail",
hands="Xaddi Gauntlets",
ring1="Rajas Ring",
ring2="K'ayres Ring",
back="Mauler's Mantle",
waist="Patentia Sash",
legs="Agoge Cuisses +1",
feet="Pumm. Calligae +1"}
sets.TP.Emxgha.MidACC = set_combine(sets.TP.Emxgha,{
head="Yaoyotl Helm",
ring2="Patricius Ring",
feet="Ejekamal Boots"})
sets.TP.Emxgha.HighACC = set_combine(sets.TP.Emxgha.MidACC,{
ammo="Ginsen",
neck="Iqabi Necklace",
ring1="Mars's Ring",
waist="Anguinus Belt",
legs="Pumm. Cuisses +1",
feet="Whirlpool Greaves"})

sets.WS.Ruinator = {
ammo="Ravager's Orb",
head="Felistris Mask",
neck="Breeze Gorget",
ear1="Steelflash Earring",
ear2="Bladeborn Earring",
body="Pumm. Lorica +1",
hands="Miki. Gauntlets",
ring1="Candent Ring",
ring2="Pyrosoul Ring",
back="Mauler's Mantle",
waist="Breeze Belt",
legs="Agoge Cuisses +1",
feet="Ejekamal Boots"}
sets.WS.Ruinator.MidACC = set_combine(sets.WS.Ruinator,{
ear1="Moonshade Earring",
ear2="Brutal Earring",
body="Miki. Breastplate",
feet="Whirlpool Greaves"})
sets.WS.Ruinator.HighACC = set_combine(sets.WS.Ruinator.MidACC ,{
ammo="Ginsen",
head="Yaoyotl Helm",
legs="Miki. Cuisses"})

the main thing im missing is the hauby from kam, my static has only seen it drop once and we dont do it very often ; ;

dudgeon/heartseeker will most likly be better without marchs/haste but any situation where dual wield WAR would be better than great axe/great sword you'll have marches.

No, other way around. More haste makes hasso better and if your stuck /NIN then it will have no effect on either. Delay reduction from DW and MA is factored in separately from haste even though your total delay can't go under the 20% floor. Also if your getting super haste buffs then DW starts to become meaningless because you'll end up under the floor. The primary advantage of DW Axe is ruinators large attack bonus which will compensate for not having Meat + Chaos + lots of Minutes + Dia III + Frailty / ect.

Axe's are basically for soloing / low manning when your not being fully supported or if your doing something where your forced to /NIN.

Yeah forgot about that. I use also use the DA combo earring cause the TP bonus does jack sh!t for ruin as it doesn't have an accuracy penalty and most of the gear you'd wear also has acc on it. Also guys, remember Ruin is for situations where your not being properly supported so attack is still important.

Ya I misread it, but DW set doesn't necessarily win just because you're dual wielding, you'd have to look at outside haste, other forms of dual wield (gear/trait), etc.

My point was that all you need to cap delay reduction when your buffed dual wielding is patentia and suppa. Yes, any DW beyond that point does start to lower your tp per hit and is doing your dps more harm than good but i highly doubt there is any point where its not beneficial to not use those 2 pieces unless you need accuracy to the point where you need accuracy in those slots.

I appreciate the ranking of body and nonRME weapons, while I was already in possession of a Minos, it allowed me to focus on relic body. However, I was hoping for some ranking of hands/feet/head as I'm lacking in plasm income. Is there any delve I should expect to get invited to rather than having to pester to tag along? My Cizin +1 is 4/5 at the moment and all have MDT augs, though only body has optimal augments (+2 MDB, 4% MDT).

I would suggest gearing another job that allow's you to get into delve runs regularly. I would consider warrior to be my main, but I rarely do event's on it because 1. it's not optimal 2. there are a lot less people willing to play mage, and even less that are good at them. As far as ranking goes, if your looking to avoid plasma drops you generally can't go wrong with the reforge AF/relic pieces. Otomi helm is also a good piece to have. It's difficult to rank pieces because it changes by situation, and it changes based on the other pieces of gear your wearing.

Just got round to getting the mats for Minos. But as I already have a ragnarok I'm wondering if it's worth making. I have upheaval 5/5 and ukkos for GA and reso 5/5 for GS. Is it better for low attack situations?
Love GA and the DA on war but if it's a side grade or worse ill use the mats for another job.

Ukkos/Upheaval is generally better for WAR outside of Mighty Strikes or when attack is much below cap. Resolution has a higher ceiling, but you're more likely to get better DPS out of a 119 Gaxe than even 119 Ragnarok in most situations. I say most because you generally won't bring WAR to high end content, anyway, so you're probably not getting 2 minuets and rolls.

Quick question WAR community, Whats this I'm hearing that Ukkon is better than Conqu over all. Is there truth to this notion?

Not really, they are both awesome weapons. Ukon pulls ahead when AM3 isn't feasible, while Conq pulls ahead when both have AM3 up.

Ukon wins if you can't maintain AM3 or use Berserk. In any realistic situation where you would bring WAR, Conq is superior.
