So for Raise II/Reraise II/Pacifying Ruby, it would be OK to switch to Esper Stone +1 for Blood Boon? Those BPs are completely fixed, right?
Every BP: Ward.
No, you would not want it on something like Slowga. The accuracy would be diminished greatly.

None of them take into account iLvl. Your avatar will just be more vulnerable while it's on. And your avatar will lose roughly 4% HP as you unequip/re-equip Seraphicaller (if he's at 100% of course)

Like accuracy, there is always a point where more attack will not be of any benefit whether reachable on a mob or not the ceiling exists.

I gotta ask what do you mean by capped attack on ifrit do you mean buffs or gear or with food or merits/job points or with all? and how does geo boost ifrit's attack with bolster? Pretty sure they mean indirectly, cause unless something happened, no magical buff affects pets...
So I beleive they are talking about a bolstered frailty for capping pDIF.
So "indirectly" capping attack by lowering the ratio threshold by lowering the denominator term: defense.
That's only with regard to capping attack with respect to a GEO.
Aside from the GEO part, I do believe you still need all those things. Though the JP/MPs are probably not required, they certainly make it easier.

they're mostly using def down effects to cap attack, with bolster geo can hit -60% def iirc, dia3 is -15%, light shot can boost dia3 to -20%, and these stack with any one of the various def down options available in the form of angon/blu spells/BPs/bolts/add. effects. Attack caps at a ratio to mob defense, for one handed weapons its 2.0 or 2.1, and i'm guessing pet attack has the same cap. so with -80% or -90% defense on the mob, attack caps pretty low.
By FaeQueenCory 2014-12-31 07:15:07
I thought pet cap was 2.5 and player cap was 2.25?
I could just be remembering WSpDIF... But I thought it was universal.
(Just curious if I'm misremembering.)

Hey, y'all.... I know why the cage--er why Conflag Strike starts to majorly start sucking against high level mobs (NMs)...
It's cause SE made it breath damage!!

Sigh....
They took our H2H damage away... But gave us breath damage... BALANCE!

yeah but how is attack getting capped I mean just from ifrit's warcry food af sp2 and cor buffs? seems like they debuffing the ***outta the mob more than buffing the smn Papesse listed the buffs/debuffs he used on the previous page.

Anyone have an updated Shattersoul set?
By Crevox 2015-01-03 02:32:44
I just got Carbuncle's Cuffs and I have to say they're very weird.
When I'm not wearing any Fast Cast, my summon completes around like 70% on the cast bar. Wearing the cuffs, it completes around like 58%.
If I wear my Fast Cast and normal gear, it completes around 28%... and that's still seemingly the same while wearing the cuffs. You'd think because it's like a time reduction (assumption) that it wouldn't really affect the bar though, or would increase the rate it fills (shorter cast time), but it feels like both the bar and the actual casting time are the same.
I don't understand these cuffs.

Congrats, did you solo the fight?
By FaeQueenCory 2015-01-03 09:10:35
Congrats, did you solo the fight? It's a suuuuper easy fight now. I was nervous so I went RUN...
But... That was just overkill.
And, Crevox, (your name autocorrects to "as if" BTdubbs) iirc, those reduce casting time by 1s standard.
FC and -cast are all % based... So your observations are in line with them knocking off 1s wholesale. (Think of them as if they had FC to reduce recast by 2s, but only reducing cast time.)
It's one of those weird late75era things they tried once but never repeated. (Think the Dessulor Tassles or whatever they're called with the waltz delay reduction.)

I don't understand these cuffs. The reduction from the cuffs is probably applied first. This would make the difference much less noticeable, something like 0.3-0.4 seconds depending on the amount of fast cast you have.

I've done the fight like 7 other times solo, only ever receiving an Ifrit's Bow (two times).
Someone else helped me with it today and the sole drop was the cuffs, so I just got lucky. Keep in mind that the drop rate of the rewards at the end of the battlefield is dictated by the number of participants. More people, more chance of drops, and you can even get multiple.
Naturally, I updated BG-Wiki with better details on its effect.

Anyone can edit as long as you make an account.
By Crevox 2015-01-06 10:19:35
I'll have a talk with some people about this and see what's up. Pretty weird.
EDIT: Okay, I've been told it's in the process of being fixed, and was not intentional. Hopefully at some point soon it will be open again.

If you want to play the lottery with a second pair, by all means! It took me a couple of million gil in stones to get the damn things a decent Pet: MAB number, I have better things to spend my gil (and sanity) on.
By the way, Carbuncle's cuffs equal a 20% casting time reduction, so, in essence, no.
You can however equip em as a midcast piece if you have them, or have other jobs that make it worth the investment.
By Crevox 2015-01-07 13:23:44
I have my Hagondes Cuffs augmented with Fast Cast+3 and the carby cuffs. They really seem to be equal or the carby cuffs are slightly better, it's close.
Either way, I use the carby cuffs.

You can however equip em as a midcast piece if you have them, or have other jobs that make it worth the investment. It's only 20% casting reduction if it's applied after Fast Cast, but from what Crevox says it seems to be applied before Fast Cast. Which dramatically reduces the efficiency of your Fast Cast and thus makes the difference minimal. Possibly non-existent depending on how rounding works.

Messing around with Nirvana and all that, opinions on the weapon aside...
Any methods/ideas/strategies people use to get the Aftermath effect going in groups on higher level content? Seems like it takes a very long time to build up to 3000 TP to make use of it, and in something like T2 Delve or a battlefield, it seems impossible due to accuracy issues.
