Subjective. If the expectation is the same turn-based menu selection battle, expect disappointment.

In ffxi terms, it's akin to being given 3 macro bars, each allowing only 4 commands (anything not equipped cannot be used in battle). Perfectly timed attacks/magic/guards will increase damage output/mitigation. Must swap between different macro sets (schema) to constantly perform action commands. It's much more interactive. It kept me from much ZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I have no motivation for New Game+. It's possible to 5 star all battles, obtain all trophies/achievements, and see all relevant storyline details in 1 play through. No interest in getting rare gear. Lightning makes a nice Sphere Hunter.
