I'm not getting what surprises you, almost as if those da/ta bonuses wouldn't work on ws.
For some ws it's a nice choice, you can see it yourself on the speeadsheet.

I am not understanding the use of Epona's ring in the WS sets? Are you just hoping for the triple attack proc?

Not really surprised. I am just asking for clarification. So the answer to my original question is yes.

What is a good offhand for Heishi Shorinken? I am building my ninja up after running out of aeonics that I wanted so I made katana but the weapon sections of the guide are very old. Trying to build sets around the weapon is not the best way to do it but I figure backwards is better than nothing.

Check out pages 55-56 for some detailed discussion.

Basically, if you need the accuracy Shigi will always win.

If you're able to hit capped/near capped acc without Shigi: Kanaria (probably seeking DEX augment, Acc/Atk, and whatever TA/DMG/etc you can get), or Ochu with max/near max augs. Taka is OK but should lose to a good Kanaria or Ochu.

Slore I did some testing some time ago on THIS post. Read following posts as well.
But basically it's like Capuchin said.

If you need acc, Shigi is the way to go. As long as you're far from capped acc, Shigi is gonna win over anything.

Kanaria with beastly augments (like the one in Langly's spreadsheet) is a fantastic Offhand, but it might be hard/impossible to get because there's not anything you can really do, it's luck dependant.

If you have Perf Ochu, that's a pretty nice offhand.
Otherwise there's Taka (which is much better than I expected) and ultimately stuff like Raicho+1 still produces pretty nice results.

If you're rich you can also sport a Kujaku+1 but it's kind of a niche-y weapon.

Does Kujaku's haste buff wear off if you change weapons? (how long does it last anyways?)
Was wondering if its worth going for a Kujaku to get haste (in the actual not so rare situation that mages forget that they can cast haste) then WS to immediately switch to Shigi or something to minimize TP loss.

I can't figure out what I am doing wrong with my set. I keep seeing everyone talk about getting 60k~ avgs on San nukes, and I have see pics of 99999 too.

I tend to pull around 16k give or take on apex crab/pugils.

ItemSet 344322

My herc augs are;
legs : 19 MAB 4 MBD
feet : 20 MAB 6 MBD

So I am technically at 13 (ochu), 8 (sam body), 5 (static/locus/mujin), 4 (legs), 6 (feet). This places me at 41 MBD and 5 MBD extra from mujin (goes over cap im told). I should be capped, and as you can see the rest of my slotts are what they should be from my knowledge.

any ideas?

Those people have Geo(s)

Are you talking about in PT setup with Geo, or just solo killing with trust?

solo with trusts for fun on apex crabs/jagils but I think I may know whats going on.

my nukes are always 8k~, 15k~ 29k~, most are just 8k.

It just dawned on me that these are perfect for resist rate decreases. I think my issue is im nearly always resisted on the mobs solo. Which explains my rare spikes to 30k which would be futae non resist, and normal 8k (14k futea) nukes.

I would assume my futea nukes are 29k non resist, 14k resisted. And my non futea nukes are 15k non resisted 8k resisted. I occasionally see a 4k which would be at the 25% dmg resist rate, but thats extremely rare to see even on apex atm for me.

This is making me go crazy haha, get a good dmg set, but now my macc is so low i cant get anything non resisted. I only got 300jp, so theres a lot of nin skill and macc on the way, but thats kind of silly because by the time i get enough ill cap jp and not need to nuke often haha. sad face ><;

I would suggest using 2 Ochus even with capped MBD because the MAB Mdamage and Ninjitsu skill do a lot especially the skill, the all magic skill + 10 or w/e neck piece from synergy of all escha Sky jailer doods also does a lot, and yes as they mentioned a Geo really helps but even w/o a Geo I still get 20kish on San(4/5,Hyuton)and 35kish San w/ Geo + 20kish NI.

my Kik is afterglowed, which is 186 magic dmg, and 242 maacc, would outdo the mab and 10 nin skill I would assume. Let me know if I am wrong, but read somewhere its like that.

from my understanding ninjitsu skill adds no dmg only ma acc at a .9 to 1 ratio. Let me know if this is wrong too please.

weird I would expect that to do very well on the fishes. well if you need some more Macc an easy to get piece is the neck from resienjasima dragon. forget name. also I use Leyline gloves atm not those empy ones so the extra Macc from them would likly do you well.

It look like nobody bothered to build a 102% spell interruption set for ninja

NIN has a hard time getting 102% without -interrupt katanas. Doable (I think?), but time-consuming and not particularly important for NIN right now.

edit: Count it out real quick.

Impatiens: 10%
Taeon x4 (or x3 and Wukong's Hakama): up to 10% each
Rawhide Gloves: 15%
Willpower Torque: 5%
Sanctuary Obi +1/Druid's Rope: 10%
Halasz Earring: 5%
Evanescence Ring: 5%

That's 90%. I know of four remaining options: Aby-Konschtat Dark Ring (up to 5%), Aptus Earring from Battaru Royale (up to 5%), Magnetic Earring (8%, Apocalypse Nigh, conflicts with Static Earring), and merits (2-10%). So you can only get to 100% before you have to start making tradeoffs somewhere, and that's if you have every other available option maxed out.

Considering how unusual interruptions are on NIN with a good FC set and proper timing, I don't think the payoff justifies the substantial investment that would go into making such a set.

Can't think of any spells I'd even use it for except Kakka, Myoshu, Yain and Gekka, but those are usually just pre-buff spells for me where there's nothing threatening to interrupt me.

Utsu:San and Utsu:Ni are pretty much already instant cast. No threat of interruption. Don't recall any recent time where I've needed to cast :Ichi.
Probably not landing enfeebling Ninjutsu on anything you're afraid of being interrupted by without magic accuracy gear.
No point casting elemental Ninjutsu in anything but MAB gear aside from silly things like Abyssea and Voidwatch proccing which you aren't getting interrupted on anyway.
Migawari I guess you could potentially argue for an SIR set on, but I'd personally focus on recast rather than interruption. It has a short enough casting time anyway.

All Ninjutsu spells go off fast enough with an average Fast Cast set these days to be very easily timed between auto attacks, though.

I'm looking to run some numbers by some other minds to help me figure out the best legs for my WS sets. The issue I'm running into is that I have a pair of herc legs with a 10% WSD dark matter aug, which is absolutely fantastic for Hi, but I'm unsure of for Shun/Metsu/Ten. I don't usually get into detailed things like parsing and spreadsheet work, I generally just skim advice from here and stick to it.

The whole reason I'm doubting them in my mind is that a lot of recent sets show Grunfeld Rope over Fotia for waist on Shun/Metsu/Ten and I guess the logic I'm following is that if 10% WSD on a piece is outdone by some acc/attack/DA/stats there, then maybe it is on pants as well, however then again, 10 WSD seems to be the aug of choice for all WS capes, so I'm kind of back at square one, lol. The full augment on my pants are {AGI+7, MND+8, Acc.+18, Attack+18, WSD+10%}. My other option is perfect Samnuha Tights.

I'm also kinda iffy on the recommendations for Ten, as I've seen the new ambuscade pants for those which do have 5 WSD, but around 10 more STR and more acc than herc, making that a head scratcher for me as well regarding 10 STR versus 5 more WSD. Admittedly, I'm not super familiar with Ten other than using it as a TP dump since I do not have aeonic yet.

Anyway, thanks in advance to anyone who throws some thought at this for me.

Fotia Belt/Gorget aren't 10% WSD. They're 25/256 fTP like the old versions, which is why other waists and necks are competitive for some WSs. Your 10% WSD legs should be best in slot for Metsu/Hi/Ten barring accuracy needs, of course.
