Who Is Ascii?

Everyone playing on this server have seen him bazaaring in Selbina, many of us have bought his overpriced food/gear/spells. Lets face it, its a great business idea to sit down in a place like that and bazaar low lv food, spells and gear for 3 times the AH price.

I kinda thought he would be gone after they introduced the nomad moogles in selbina, since now if you forgot to bring gear, food or spells you can just have it sent to your d-box and pick it up. But he's still there, so he gotta make money of it.

He's been sitting there bazaaring 24/7 since I first set my foot in Selbina about 4+ years ago.

I am curious! Anyone know him? Know who his main char is? Just asking out of pure curiousity.

Also does other servers have their own "Ascii" Selbina bazaar guy?

We have one. It's not Ascii though. Their name is Mysticblue or something like that. They arnt 24/7 but pretty damn close. Food isn't overpriced though. IMO It's a great idea and I've bought many things from that bazaar lol.

the whole point is that he's not everywhere but have been at the exact same spot 24/7 for over 4 years...

I havent seen any of those move in 3+ years.
Always the same food and equips.

Her bazaar comment has said something like "sorry for the higher prices, when costs come down so will my prices" for the past 3-4 years.

There's a female elvaan just outside the port sandy moghouse that sells reraise items for 5-10X the AH price too. 80k RR2 pins, 50k earrings, etc. I check her every once in a while and it seems her inventory flows pretty quickly, even at that price.

We have one in Selbina, on Bahamut server.

Ascii has been there for years indeed. Well before my time (so I'm told) and I started a lil over 5 years ago.

I've seen Ascii move before, guess he had to restock before the nomad moogles. But ya he's been there since i started in 2004 or something.

Been there seen I started and never hardly offline from that spot.

We got one named Valkurmmarket, Minimart and Supermart, although I know the owner of the "Marts", shes cool.

One on shiva server in Lower Jeuno called BigBen, hes been standing there for like 4 years and ive never seen him move, yet he still gets stock. My intitial thoughts were they might be SE mules or something.....

We used to have an Ascii on Midgard, but I don't think I ever saw him sitting around bazaaring. Was a jp friend of mine...haven't seen him in a while though...

I remember buying a boomerang from him yeeeears ago, by far my fav. selby npc.

On Ifrit and Ramuh (probably every server), there's always that 1 person that always has Imperial Silver pieces for sale next to the Warp Taru, and tons of them.

As for Selbina, there was this person there always selling jerkey. Never ran out. Same spot. Same moogle hat. Same Taru.

We had 2 on Fairy. One in the Dunes outside Selby (A friend of mine got killed by a gobby checking the bazaar) and another outside Delkfut's Tower in Qufim One was called Foodmarket. The prices were decent but I haven't seen either in years.

There is like 8 on Fairy. All are usually overpriced. I used to think they were all RMT but one has a Tidal Talisman. Every now and then we'll have 1 or 2 people in the same booth as the coin guy.

haha Ascii has indeed been there for years!! I saw him when i first started playing a few years back. Then took a massive break only to restart again recently and he's still there! In the same spot in selbina right by the front gates! What a dedicated NPC.

I used to leave my main in Selbina or right outside of the zone. Was good business for a bit.

There's a taru in Southern Sandy that sells nothing but tea leaves. The price is about 10-20 more than NPC in Windy. I know he's gotten some business from the GF when we're too lazy to log into a mule in windy and send some.

Edit: For those than don't understand about the tea leaves. The leathercraft guild is in Sandy and leathercraft requires tons of tea leaves.
