I'm trying to install the FFVII re-release, but it says Access is Denied when I try to run the setup.exe! I'm running it as Administrator and everything! Dafuq?

Just how retro would this need to be, I have a Star Ocean 4 question.

My use of retro was to include anything that is currently in the past, thus anything up to the current day !

I'm having a problem with my Commodore 64 tape deck.The teeth are finally wearing thin after 20 years of use.Suggestions?

Level up Reimi's Critical hit and Focus, level up BEAT B. Enter Rush Mode. Win. :)

Right-click > Properties > Security tab

Make sure "Full Control" is checked for each group and/or user. Doesn't always help but it has before on certain things I've went to install/run.

Okay, so for my Star Ocean 4 question, it has to do with battle trophies...

I have a playthrough where I am in the wandering dungeon and people are starting to hit the level caps, some of the trophies I have yet to collect are ones like "Do exactly 7 points points of damage", which is impossible given my level. I also have 0 battle trophies for Faize because he is kind of a *** but already have Arumat in my party.

I was told that to get his trophies (and other ones I missed) you basically have to start the whole game over and it then allows you to do a playthrough with Faize all the way through. That the trophies I earned in my first playthrough would synch up with the new playthrough.

The thing is I really like Arumat, so do the trophies also reverse sync (I notice when you load it says something about syncing trophies), or would I have to play through a game with Faize, then play an entire third playthrough in order to reach the endgame content again with Arumat?

I believe the trophies are only relevant if you actually use that character since their only rewards are enhancements, such as being able to set as many of a skill as you like and such~

Not sure about XBL achievements but the above is their real purpose.

The rewards are: extra battle voices, level cap removal and a CP bonus.

You need them for the 100% clear trophy I think, but I was really more interested in breaking the level caps with people for now, just thought I might use Faize more if I am in fact stuck doing another playthrough (which I would be in order to get the 100% chest find trophy anyway) :<

Faize is pretty good, gets a few unique spells iirc; Extinction and reaping spark I think.

I don't think I'd ever stop using Arumat though, Can't give up Dragon's roar :<

I don't know if there are any Touhou Project fans out there, but I finally (FINALLY SDLGJFLS) defeated Flandre Scarlet in "Embodiment of Scarlet Devil" (I might make it my first Youtube video :D). Are there others in the series that anyone would recommend? I'm looking for more traditional ones, I suppose.

I have Scarlet Devil, Perfect Cherry Blossom, Phantasmagoria of Flower View, and Fairy Wars. The last two are intersting twists on the genre but are there any others (besides Perfect Cherry Blossom) that are "standard danmaku"?

Edit: Forgot Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and Hisoutensoku, but those don't count :)

.hack question this time...

I am at the end of the first disc in the first series and there is an optional dungeon/boss I can do, but it is waaaaaaaaay beyond my strength. Grinding is taking forever and then some...

So can I start the next disc and then return to the first disc to fight the optional boss later?

Loving the updated sprites and bgm for FF7 PC, seems extremely smooth compared to the console too.

And I'm gonna work my *** off to achieve the only hard achievement there >.>;


In any case, is anyone having problems with the Cloud style saving system they have implemented?
I can only seem to access certain slots and it sometimes doesn't sync my saved game :/

Fraid not, the import is a one time only option at the start of the game (from what I remember anyway)

as to your question have u tryed a clean install of the game if the old install your trying to use is giving u errors.

faelar i want to let u know thinking about it now the title is not clear on the what this topic is going to be used for i think u should put the same thing in the title as the other sticky random question thread then (what this one is used for)if u can fit it in less words then look at how the opening post of the other random question thread is made the format u used for the rules could use a little adding 2 but that is all.

really good job i am happy i was able to help u and the others get this topic going in some way.

From my memory you can't go back to first disk, but iirc you could still do previous quests/areas from past disc, but don't remember 100% I would suggest making two saves importing one, then seeing if you can still inter it on disc two.
ps. how this is infection/mutation not the second set, didn't play much of them so only know first series.

Ah yeah, I could totally do multiple saves.

What I meant was first disc of .hack (//Infection), as opposed to first disc of .hack//GU

I believe the issue is that he is unable to install the game at all due to a permissions issue.

Fae where did the setup file save too? It might be worthwhile taking ownership of that folder and making sure you have a tick in full access under the security tab.
