There are no posts about MACC vs blue skill in the guide; I checked. The guide is a guide, just that, albeit an amazing one. But it's certainly not the official end all be all of discussion on mechanics. Otherwise, 90% of all posts would fall under that criteria, defeating the purpose of topics.

From searching threads, this thread had the most discussion on the topic of MACC. So I posted here to add to the discussion rather than starting a new topic.

I can't find any concrete evidence on MACC vs blue skill, other than hearsay. Anyone have any links or ideas on testing?

Macc only effects additional effects on the physical spells like head butts stun or sprout smacks slow where as blue skill effects the damage tier for spells. The skill level of your current weapon effects the acc of physical spells and macc wont do anything for physical spells.

Questions that are asked on the guide are answered pretty quickly by the person who made it, as well as other people who love the job. Seeing that guide pop up on the hot topics list is pretty common & a lot of people out their questions regarding blu's mechanics there. Your question is a pretty simple one hence why there isnt a lot of "discussion" about it on the the guide topic. The testing was done long ago so its more a simple question/simple answer type scenario. Which is why i said it should be done on the guide instead of here, but whatever.

My question was about the accuracy of magical spells, not physical spells. What is the relationship between MACC and blue magic skill, with evidence and not hearsay.

Its generally accepted that 1 magic skill = 1 magic accuracy for its corresponding spells. There's some very detailed tests on the bgwiki page Magic accuracy.

My guide isn't end all be all, it was written as a useful resource for people to look things up at a basic, sometimes advanced, level while fielding remaining questions if I missed it in the guide itself. If I'd listed every single mechanic relating to the architecture of the game, it would have made what is already arguably a hard to thumb through guide difficult to follow for those who just want to learn how the job works on a fundamental level or the like. Therefor, those who are interested in going deeper into certain things or want specific information are encouraged to ask questions in the thread, I have not had it locked for a reason.

While I do very very much appreciate the praise for it, I've accepted the fact that not everyone will think to use it as a complete source of information. I'm fully capable of answering any mechanic question you have, as are most of the other posters who get to questions before I'm able to, so don't hesitate to ask in there in the future, but don't feel it's necessity if you're for some reason uncomfortable with keeping everything in one place.

As far as your question, magic accuracy is one of the most annoying things to test. As I answered previously in the thread, it's within a very high, near perfect level of confidence that 1skill:1magicaccuracy. BG's information is fantastic documented information regarding the subject, and I've done retests in my time as well. If you're still concerned with the validity of myself and BG, you can feel free to do the test yourself, it's not difficult.

Haha, I enjoyed reading the front page of this. I was trying to explain this to some new BLU's the other day and they were like "but af3+2 is best right?!" and it was almost an exact mirror of what you said.

Just bumping this cause I still see so many shitty BLUs TPing in these, so maybe they'll see this and stop, though I doubt it.

Also I wish the OP would tell these BLUs to not even use these for physical spells either.

If those people didn't read this before now, why do you think they would suddenly read this now? Those people most likely don't read this forum or any other, and couldn't care less about yours or anyone's opinion on their gear or performance.

Such a stupid thing to be bothered about.

Unless said person is in your LS or in your PT does it really matter? If they wanted to improve they`d seek information, if they don't care, bumping a thread on a forum they don't read won't change anything.

without being overly aggressive in trying to correct their thinking, have u tried to explain the power of a Blu, when it comes to Chain Affinity? have u asked them about the job traits they can create by setting particular spells? how with the proper spell set and tp gear/ws gear(s) they could do alot more damage, and have more pride in what they do, which would also lead to more fun and enjoyment. instead of the Erage and calling people idiots/noobs, has anyone considered reaching out to mentor? has any of these ragers considered the poor quality blus may not have access to interwebs, or even that they may not care how they perform, as blu may not be their main? share the wealth of knowledge, guide instead of belittle, reach out and lend a hand, instead of pointing and snickering.

I'm gonna go ahead and say this applies more to your post than mine.
