A Scholar's Education (Guide)
For nuking it should be uncontested if the magic damage is like a % based thing like affinity. If not might be like a + to the spells base dmg; will be interesting to see. Stun will probably stay w/ apajamas 2 though unless you really need the acc.
I kinda meant more-so for casting/recast on stuff like Haste and Stoneskin and the like. ^^; Precast for nukes, too!

Needs more "Enhances Stun" waist or something. ;[
Meh, i'm happy. If magic damage+ is like affinity it will put my nukes on delve bosses at around 6-7k a nuke. That is enough to make me smile.

I'm really hoping it will work like that. I've been hoping for magian to be out classed for so long now. q.q
Got rdm cape, will test magic damage+ in a bit.
Are capes quested? Or obtained through bayld/plasm/etc..
Wow. Good to know they're obtainable that quickly. :3 Interested in knowing how to get them as well!
Still trying to get on, but will be headed for those capes asap :P
Got it from a colo reive in new zone.
While on RDM or a different job?
on sch, mnk w/ me got run cape, drk got a blm one. seems random right now.
That's kind of a disappointing way to get it...
lol, i thought it was weird that you happened to get the rdm one <_<
ya :/ I don't ever play rdm. but it works, out in rolanberry doing some testing now.
At least it's a good incentive to start building up Colonization Rate in the new zones!
I hope they have storage slips for those in mind later...cause holy *** reives are going to be on crack now that you can literally solo them.
Magic damage+ is not a % increase. Looking like its actual damage>.> before mab is applied.
Bookworm's Cape is my favorite named item of all time now!

Thanks a ton for the guide! Especially the progression part.. that's something I wish more guides used. It's really helpful with all the content this game's accumulated over time.
One quick question.. it looks like a lot of the gear benefits/requires augmentation, but I can't find the recommended augment. What goes on the moonshade earring or dark rings, for example? The only augment suggestion I can find is on the Kirin's pole. Saw, does the mgc dmg+ increase have a proportional effect on helixes or is it static?

The only augment suggestion I can find is on the Kirin's pole. The dark rings are farmed from Aby-Konschtat and can get the following, at random... Breath Damage -1~6% Physical Damage -1~6% Magic Damage -1~6% Enemy crit. hit rate -1~3 Spell Interruption Rate -1~5% Defense +2~4 The moonshade earring can get two Augments. One should be refresh (if you want to go the mage direction, which I assume you would if you are inquiring here. The other is really up to you, but Macc+4 is a safe bet! All AF2+2 augments are specific to each piece, so just do the trial for it and you will get the augment. Offline

It might make /sch helixes worth using. cryohelix on blm/sch
no cape: 157 cape: 172 works on helixs, drain on blm/rdm no cape: 338 ES+cape: 377 (max calculated potential dmg for my noncapped dark skill on blm :/) doesn't appear to work on drain |
