You are of course correct on pure damage output.
But any time I'm bothering to melee, the -DT on Vanir is quite helpful, and mobs are small enough that the damage output difference is minimal.

Quote: June Addition of a command to display ranged attack motion Add a text comand to display the ranged attack motion only This command will enable players to see their ranged weapons in town. You can silence most delve NM that nukes too. When are you even single wielding? You're either using Vanir+Sabebus or Eminent scimitar if you wanna use Requiescat. Both daggers are relevant.

You can be on /WHM and still shoot though. Also, for those who don't yet have a Vanir (myself included), you need to consider other options.
I said both are relevant.

Still sitting in my mog house, I can never bring myself to throw away the ol' gal. Ugh, apparently they're also removing the 0.85 from ws formula. Damage is gonna be over the roof next update.

Valefor.Sehachan said: » Ragnarok.Afania said: » You can have 2 sabebus. "Waste of money" is subjective, you can apply that to most of the gear choices. But it is up to the player to choose whether he/she want to spend the gil or not. I was replying to Ramyrez, not you. He didn't use the term "best all-round weapon", he said "your best bet the vast majority of the time" which I disagree. According to spreadsheet sabebus R15 A has 12 more DPS than Vanir, since I always open with light shotx2 and most delve NM die in 1.5~2 min(thus not a lot of QD dmg too) on top of those NM doesn't do much magic dmg with silence, Sabebus is usually better. Whether you want to choose vanir because of gil issue or not is irrelevant. It MAY be a better choice after WS update if everyone ended up leaden salute all things, but we don't know anything about new magical WS formula yet. Am I misinterpreting you in thinking this means I shouldn't bother maxing my Sabebus out as my main hand for Last Stand?
There aren't many options for Last Stand main hand on cor, nothing particularly shines anyway. With Sabebus path A you'd have agi+4 and str+7, which is about as best as it gets for main hand right now. Sabebus is an excellent melee dagger thuogh.
I think if you wanted to use something to max out for last stand. Use an Aphotic Kukri? (meaning melee is not in your interests)

I'm slowly working on bringing it out of that timeframe when Wildfire was the way to go, and my main focus is on WHM usually. I worded myself poorly, I suppose.
If you're going to pick just one, I'd take Vanir Knife. Having an R15 Sabebus around is certainly helpful and as long as next week's update doesn't introduce anything better, I'm sitting on Airlixirs to upgrade one myself. And yes, it's MDT not DT, sorry, that was a mere typo that I literally made, looked at after I posted and figured "Eh, they'll get what I mean", and didn't edit. Should have known better. The one time I don't get anal about editing posts for corrections. But I do far more that isn't Delve with my corsair than is. For me it's the best all-around piece to be using in any given circumstance, as it would be for many playing corsair these days. Espectially if doing content with pickups. Nice stuff for us this update.
First and foremost the new roll rings, the nq is with sparks of eminence so easily obtainable, the hq drops from Yumcax. Notice these do not stack so ideally the roll combo is Luzaf+Barataria. The fact that we can now equip Atoyac is also a big deal, mainly for the agi+12 the base weapon has and the augments: One of: Accuracy+30, Magic Accuracy+30, Occassionally attacks twice (oat seems great) and then there's the naakual specific augment: Magic Evasion +15, Magic Accuracy +15, MP+30 (probably go with macc) as for other gear we'll have to take a look at possible combinations(especially with added haste)to see if it opens new sets scenarios. Keep in mind the snapshot+2 is pretty bad. WF and Leaden gear seems unchanged except for weapon, Atoyac beats Vanir. edit: didn't notice you can actually put different naakual augments on gear dropped by others, gotta reevaluate then, some very nice stuff to look that! Atoyac with Kumhau ki is crazy @_@ Cerberus.Balloon

How's Leaden stack up against WF now with the AGI and ilvl buff?
MAcc+30,MAB+10,MDmg+15,Enmity-10.
Sounds nice all around for Wildfire/Laeden Salute. Cerberus.Balloon said: » How's Leaden stack up against WF now with the AGI and ilvl buff? WF now remains a utility ws for 1. low enmity 2. magic dmg against dark resistant mobs |
