I also heard it was a tank job from someone else watching the stream. That certainly would be interesting. Can talk about how PLDs are outclassed again!

It's actually not. Mystic Knight is 魔法剣士, Rune Fencer that they've announced is 魔導剣士.
Wait until the English translation comes out before we start throwing out "what this job is." I am sure we have people who speak fluent JP but they arent contributing.

Vivi never became useless. Not even against Ozma.
AoE spells were king in most random fights and using Reflect to increase your spell damage was the best way to beat a lot of the tougher enemies.

Why are all you peoplecomplaining "RDM is Dead, this and that" when you do't even know one damn thing about it yet. Stop complainining until 2013, when, you know, it's actually playable, then you can see what it does. Like, seriously...

I'm only joking around about the demise of RDM but the fact is that no other job has fallen so far, so fast.
Paladin comes close but RDM? Looking like a washed up sports star at this point.

Final Fantasy I - Warriors did more consistently and didn't die.
Final Fantasy V - SMN did more, Mime did even more again, Freelancer was even better again.
Final Fantasy IX (At the end) - Doomsday was consistently out damaged by any of the 9999 abilities.
Final Fantasy X - Black Magic was pointless and physical attacks with elemental weapons did more. At dark aeons+ you wouldn't touch it.
Its probably that play as a monster thing, or w/e its called.

I don't know about that. I never see PLDs unless they have Empys/Relics/etc but I still see RDMs *** everywhere.
They may not be king anymore but people still use them a lot.

Various stages of evolution
They compared it to PLD and NIN how both had different approaches to tanking like defense and evasion, and RUN(RNF? lol) will focus on elemental resistance. It also uses runes, they made it sound like expendable items (like cards or tools) but I'm not sure on that one, but they power your abilities toward a particular element, giving both attack and defense properties of that element.
