Hmm, Great Magic Shield it is then!
Bleed builds up through shield blocks iirc, so I dunno how good of an idea turtling up is.
In better news, poison is so ridiculously under powered that being able to stack the hell out of it isn't really a threat. Shields lessen the effect. It will still go through, but if you use a high stability shield and Great Magic Shield with the Linger Dragoncrest Ring, you cannot lose stamina via blocking, not even through kicks. FP abilities I am unsure about, but I do know that Great Magic Shield also neuters the Darkdrift FP ability.

Ornstien/smoug defeated the first time (solo with no soliare!). a farcry from my first play through where I had to summon 2 phantoms to help lol Does that include people with the Knight Slayer Ring/Kick Ring?
Not sure, can't tell lol. I do know that the Farron Greatsword couldn't lessen my stamina with Lothric Knight's Shield +10 and Great Magic Shield, no matter how many times or in what ways the guy hit me with it.
If you wanna try some testing we could go duel in secluded spot!

Another neat tidbit about my GMS usage; with only 100 spell buff and the Lothric Knight Shield +10 none of the bosses in the game were able to reduce my stamina.
The Spider Shield is in game, but its physical block is only in the 80s now.
Just did a test with Dameion! He doesn't have Horsehoof though.
Even with Knight Slayer's Ring, and +5 Prince Lorian's Great Sword, he couldn't do anything to my stamina. I always press Git Gud, but then my performance suffers anyway, because I'm sleep deprived.
I have one more ending to get, but I'm actually not feeling like doing it atm Q.Q

Can't find great magic shield.. everytime on fextralife i click the link it 404s me. then i google it and nothing shows up xD i just want to know how good it is
+50% or more to every elemental resistance(Physical, magical, darkness, fire, lightning), increases shield stability by some multiplier, my guess would be x2, which is huge, because stability increases are amazingly strong. These occur with a catalyst with only 100 Spell buff, unsure if a stronger catalyst makes it better. I use the Witchtree Branch for expedited casting.
The Dark Souls 3 wiki won't have anything about it, because the person who made the pages for it assumed it had the same buff statistics as Dark Souls 1. This is not the case. The base duration is now around 28 seconds, 37~38 with the Lingering Dragoncrest Ring, 45 seconds with +2. You will lose the buff if you two hand a weapon or switch your shield out, so you must buff with catalyst in the non-shield hand. The buff can be refreshed while still active, so you can make appropriately timed reapplications to ensure it never wears off. There's a spell parry shield with 100% phys block
So far so good, for my third playthrough I'm attempting to not die. I'm just before the Cursed Great Wood, and I've managed to not die at all, to anything, and I've killed everything between me and it. By that I mean, everything between the start of the game, and my current location, at least once. I've not been over grinding, nor have I used cheeses(fighting the Sword Master gave me conniptions). I'm wondering how long I can go before I make a senseless and deadly mistake.
Had to take a break though. Playing like this gets me really high strung, especially since I can't unember, and could be invaded at any time by an actual player. I know you can go into matchmaking and set yourself to offline mode, but that removes a layer of difficulty. Couple DS2 questions!
#1 - Do enemies have limited respawns? I was trying to get some Heide knight gear and noticed first that an old knight wasnt spawning, then the frist two heide knights stopped. #2 - If an enemy has an item on it while I am assisting another player, is that item instanced to me or if I pick it up and I taking an item from that player? It was a healing gem, it *seemed* like he didnt see it. 1) Yes, you can remove enemies from your world by repeatedly killing them. You can cause them to respawn in the same playthrough though with that special item that knocks them up a NG+ level. Keep in mind though, that if you use that item, it will knock all of the enemies associated with the bonfire you use it at, up to the NG+ level.
2) Idk, take Tidus's word for it! So many things that need Fragrant Branches! I think I might have wasted a couple getting into poop-tier chests etc.
