Currently my BC is 78.4 and I will be making Hellish Bugles to 85. Is it feasible to start making Trumpet rings at 85 with +1 skill and advanced support?

I'm not nearly that high on bonecraft, but I can say that in all the crafting I've done it is possible, though annoying as hell to do a 10 lvl gap (you've got 10 with that setup). You'll break a lot, and won't skillup much, but it's reasonable.

On the plus side, you can always get 0.3 skillups. On one of my 10 lvl gap synths, I actually managed to get back to back 0.3 skillups!

I'd so go for it.

Actually there's a 2% chance of getting a 0.2 skill up after 60 :) my friend in cloth craft got 0.2 after 60 like twice.

oh, btw... i'm kinda stuck at 64.4 on BC. matts are either hard to farm or too damn expensive to buy at the AH. so let me know if you got any good tips to help me with my crafting.

if you really want you could skill up on RRpins to 80. sure it's not a huge jump, but if you have little breaks it will also be profitable.

but if you're looking for a modest gap while skilling, then also look at Dragon Cuisses at 82. Yet again it's a profit and if you can find yourself a alchemist to buy em off you, can also make a lot at a time as well. Sure there's a leathercraft sub in there, but that's one of the easiest subs to get to 60, imo.

Remember, trumpet rings are labeled as 96 BC. You cannot make an item that is more than 10 levels above your current BASE skill

And for Tadakatsu:

Bone Patas along with a combo of Beast Horn can start moving you along in skilling again.

Beast Horn is one of those you can farm up with not too much issues, while Bone Patas are used by Goldsmithers to skill up on. Sure there is no profit, but almost 0 net loss is just as good.

I farmed Ladybug Wings to get me to 65 then I made Demon Rings to 69. When I did this the horns were 25-30k a stack...now they're 90-100k, so that might not be an option. At 69 I did Tigerfangs(79) and that was the best skillup/profit synth I ever did as long as I farmed the mats. Every run I did I would farm 16 stacks of black tiger fangs in batallia downs and 100 Scorpion Shells from the Nest and buy 8 stacks of carbon fiber. Sell the Tigerfangs you make to NPC for 3700gil a piece. I made an easy 1mil+ from that synth by farming 2 of the 3 mats and went from 69 to 78.4.

you'll have to grind a level or two on dragon masks. they npc for around 3k, when i made them i was losing about 3-4k a synth... not too rough. after that trumpet rings are fine

Hi,

I'm at 87 BC +1 atm and at 86 I wanted to start with Mammoth Tusk (BC 94), after the first few tries I realized that they break at a around 95% rate.
So I crafted Behemoth Rings (BC 89) until I got to 87, now the result is much better and I get better skill ups.
So I wouldn't try to craft Trumpet rings at 85.
Just my 2 cents.
(btw. sry for my bad english >.>)
Maybe this helps a bit.

I'm gona carry on believing my own experience until I see proof. With wood at 100 and my leather mule at 72, I've still yet to see anything above a 0.1 post 60.

Whoever said there was a 2% chance of something above a 0.1 skillup were pulling numbers out of their ***.

Outside of fishing i've never seen any .2's and i'm 100 bone.

I agree with grinding out some dragon stuff to get round 86-87 before doing trumpets. I started at 87 but have 71 fishing too. So,was all profit i didn't mind breaks all that much. I used fishing to make gavial masks really cheap too for 96-100. Good luck on the skillz :)

after I hit 88BC with Behe Rings I started to collect GP for my Apron.
After I got the Apron I started to craft Trumpet with adv. support untill around 90 and with normal support to around 92, this went really fast for me!
oh.... and I also didn't see any 0,2s for me after 60.

If I wanted to talk about whether or not you are getting .1 or .2 skillups, I would have went to that forum. Can we please keep this about bonecraft so others to include myself are not wasting time.
