Guy Turns Dead Cat Into Helicopter
Hope someone kills him, stuffs him then turns him into a helicopter

I don't know the guy..as long as the cat was well taken care of in life and as long as he's not harassing anybody with it..its not really any weirder than any other taxidermy.

I guess i'm the only person who saw, artist, helicopter cat and made the conclusion it was a weak attempt at publicity? So much mad here over a dead cat. I don't get it.

Killing people= ok, while killing animals= bad, kind of mentality going on thar. And you can determine this with validity how? Did you not read the cat's name? It looks like a creative approach to honoring his cat's namesake in a clever way. But that's just me. The cat's name was Orville, he had two options, make him fly or make him into popcorn. I'm glad he made him fly. Cerberus.Cahlum said: » Hope someone kills him, stuffs him then turns him into a helicopter It's not like he killed the cat himself. And I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be bothered being turned into a postmortem helicopter too since, y'know, he'd be dead... Who cares about its honor. How many are smashed daily on the road and then just rot? Clearly helicopter corpse is a better fate. Also who cares his motivations, its *** awesome. Think this story would bother me if someone purposely killed a cat for the intent of flying him around.
The cats dead, pretty sure he doesn't care. (Unless there's a cat heaven, then he's prolly up there shaking his paw in fury). If it makes the owner happy, then whatever. I'd be more bothered by the way people treat live animals in other parts of the world then some dude's eccentric way of "honoring" his dead cat. Artemicion said: » So much mad here over a dead cat. I don't get it. People seem to think they're morally superior or something, or that their values are more relevant than anyone elses. It's hilarious. The notion that because the guy was an artist =/= publicity stunt is laughable too. Way to prejudge someone based on their profession guize. Cerberus.Cahlum said: » Hope someone kills him, stuffs him then turns him into a helicopter Oh yeah cause that's logical right? Bahamut.Enkidou said: » Quote: Dutch Didn't find it funny at all. Just... weird. Really really REALLY weird.

turn a giraffe into a smart car and try an attempt at the mcdonalds drive thru.
Bahahaha... the best part is the way he had the cats legs extended out.
The funniest part to me is the tail being completely straightened :P
Moonwalkerv said: » Burial isnt my first choice, that would be cremation. BUT i have a hard time believing a cat, when living would be ok with being flung around the room as such. But the rub is, even alive its not really in a position to say it would or wouldnt like to be treated that way. The cat is dead. Dead. No longer alive. Deceased. Shuffled off this mortal coil. Gone. A stiff. A body. Carcass. Cadaver. Bereft of life. Expired. Pushing up daises. Plant food. Whatever feelings that cat may have had are gone and all that is left is an empty shell we usually either bury to decompose, cremate or toss in a dumpster. This guy chose to taxidermy his cat and attach it to a helicopter as art and humanity has been doing such things for centuries as a way of displaying/honoring/venerating/remembering their pets and by proxy the human emotions behind the pet. Quote: In death, the owner isnt thinking about his cat at all. He is clearly thinking about himself and whatever attention he can derive from this publicity stunt. Thinking about what? His cat is gone but I guess he should have had the cat paw in a consent form before going and getting hit by a car. What the owner does with the remains is his business and if he can extract some joy from the last gift his cat could give him (a corpse) and entertain some other people by doing something other than the typical phoned in burial response then more power to this guy and I bet we won't be forgetting this cat after that video. Quote: You wouldnt hook your grandma up as a helicopter would you? Unless of course it was stipulated in her will... In some cultures we'd eat grandma. Quote: TLDR, I doubt the cat if able to express itself, would be happy with how it ended up. Moonwalker: The Cat Whisperer. I'm not hung up over the being dead part. I just don't get how someone who cared about the animal could be happy with such a thing.
I wouldn't do it personally, but how people feel about a dead pet varies.
If you can't understand, just move along. /shrug The terror one could inflict upon birds would be endless.
Bird sees cat > takes off to a branch or power line as usual. Bird sits up there not giving a single *** about cat on the ground. All of a sudden copter cat lifts off in pursuit, and the bird proceeds to ***bricks. I wouldn't do it either..then again there are alot of people out there who don't understand why people even have pets and how could they possibly feel sad if they die because they're just 'stupid animals". As long as the guy was good to the cat while it was living is all that I care about.
Its not nearly as bad as that lady on Hoarders who had hundreds of cats and everytime one died she tossed it in a freezer. Cerberus.Cahlum said: » Hope someone kills him, stuffs him then turns him into a helicopter umad Offline

Sparthosx, without quoting all that. My basic point is, if the guy cared so much for his cat that he wants to have something to remember it by, he is doing it in a way which was un-natural to how his beloved pet actually lived its life.
He could have eaten his cat for all I care, my main response was to the calls of his pet, remembering it how he wants etc. He isnt doing it to remember his cat, he is doing to push his artistic profile into the spot light. It wasnt someone else who brought this to the medias attention, he approached the local news to do so. The guy wants attention, goes to an extreme to get it but then people defend his attention whoring by saying, just a cat...his cat..he can do what he wants. The media has played up to his expectations. Odin.Tsuneo said: » I'm not hung up over the being dead part. I just don't get how someone who cared about the animal could be happy with such a thing. Exactly, it's a publicity stunt. Why on earth unless you were seeking attention would you go to such lengths to let everyone know? The guy's an artist, so I'm not disputing this for publicity's sake.
This is his way of both honoring his cat's memory and body while also garnering attention for his work. Anyone here that doesnt think every cat wishes it could fly every time it goes for a bird and misses is fooling themselves.
This guy clearly was just fulfilling his cats greatest dream. Not everyone adheres to the social status quo of burial when it comes to the passing of kin or pets. As long as no laws are broken, I don't see what the fuss is all about. He can honor his dead cat however he damn well pleases.
