Anytime I try to get an armband before an assault from a blu i get the emote "mesic's mercenary badge flashses." which leads to a line by the npc and never allows for the option. Anyone know the quest? Or how i can get off it?
I've looked as best i knew where to for this, vie the npc's page or just typing in some of the blu's text on google or wikia.

only thing i remember off the top of my head is the beginning missions of taking supplies to them :/
Its not the supply mission since you arent a merc at that point. It could be the blu unlock quest or you havent got the assault order from the npc in wg which it most possible could be.
The lure of the wildcat quests, which involve talking to npcs and having your badge flash are for the 4 main cities I had thought. I know there was something AU related about flashing badges but I don't remember ^^; It's been so long.
I thought that just means you have one already.
Pretty sure that just means you didn't get the assault mission activated in WG, or you already have an armband from a previous assault.
Well, that'd be easy to test, check your KI's or just try to enter one.
If you already have an armband it says some rubbish like stop wasteing my time i think

Could it be from BLU AF quests?
I don't think it's from a quest; you most likely have one already. This issue came up on the FFxi wiki forums a few years ago. Here

Same thing happened to this person here, and it turns out they already had an armband on them.
