Diablo 3
This dude is my freaking hero.
Struggling in Act IV Hell with my 59 Barb :( still geared with what I had at level 50, trying to avoid regearing until 60 to save some money since I know I will be upgrading again after that but may have to break the bank ><
Holy balls hardcore and you see a pact like the one in the first minute of the vid? I would've needed a man up moment too.
Just got outbid with under a minute to go on a sweet neckpiece :(

Some of those gears don't even drop in act 1 or 2, it come from act 3 and 4. Honestly he probably has a team of farmers.
He didn't for world third inferno diablo, but I assume he does now since 4 man is a waste of time Oh man, I'd ***myself if I were doing hardcore :(

He didn't for world third inferno diablo, but I assume he does now since 4 man is a waste of time He says he doesn't, and while people can say anything I know he has videos and streams for HOURS farming his own gold and items. Gold farmers and great gear aside he is really pretty good at the game. I know I personally suck at timing things the way he does to stack armor buffs for attacks he cant miss and timing his leap to dodge what he can. Plus he makes some pretty awesome videos about the game mechanics and tutorials and seems like a nice guy (unlike that dude Athene). Yeah I like him, but jesus it's hardcore and he's barbarian. I would want farmers.
Athenes a ***. I like how Athene thinks he's a big deal and so awesome at the game, when in reality, a majority of his success comes from begging people to farm for him 24/7.
I stopped watching Kripp's stream on Twitch a few days after he started hardcore. Everyone was saying that he traded Diablo 2 items for the D3 gold on hardcore over the d2jsp forums his very first night of hardcore. If you go through his old stream videos, if they are there, you can see that sure enough, he goes from starting out fresh to having 1.6~ million the next morning. From there the game is pretty much lol when you can toss money at the AH and over-gear for everything. Certainly I don't think that he bought every single piece of gear but enough. You can see some of his Nightmare and Hell boss fights where he takes almost no damage at all just standing toe-to-toe for the whole fight.
He actually died at level 38 or something, Act II Nightmare. His connection dropped, he lagged, whatever. So instead of sucking it up and starting over, he had his buddy Krippi boost him back to 38 with a few hours of the Zultan Kulle quest trick/exploit and picked up where he left off. For me that totally ruins the whole idea of Hardcore when you die and can simply have your friend boost you right back to where you were. Yeah it sucks that you can have a character completely destroyed that way but you sortof sign up for that when you choose to make your character hardcore. Call me a purist /shrug. It's just a personal thing though -- I think he's kinda circumvented the entire idea of hardcore with what he's done so from my point of view it takes all the enjoyment out of it and takes a lot of the achievement away from it. I don't know that anyone else has made it to Act III Inferno on hardcore though so props for that much I guess. blah, finally have time to jump on just to find out there is another *** all day patch thing going on :<
good thing this isn't my only day I really have nothing to do, yep ... that would totally suck Guess it's back to my warhammer stuffs. I got a 70something + necromancer in d2 on hardcore >_> does that count?
"World first" is a big deal to some people, I'm surprised that no ones just boosted to 52(?) using the meteor/massacre trick in the beginning of Act III. Supposedly takes 8 hours, so even if a character dies leveling shouldn't be an issue.
However the lack of level 60 gear that's worth using for the Hardcore AH is an issue, where as in normal games you can buy 1.4k DPS weapons your first day with gold, Hardcore farming is much more difficult so there's no real chance of the AH overflowing and inflating like it has in normal. Not anytime soon anyway. All that aside, the game's kind of trivial until you get to act 2 inferno anyway. Not saying Hardcore is trivial, but everything is MASSIVELY easier than act 2 Inferno. That's where the challenge (or rather gear checks) starts. I'm gonna get comfortable in regular games before I decide to do a hardcore mode, I've yet to die (aside from the two or three I had cause of being interrupted IRL and losing attention for like 30 seconds lol...) albeit I am only just through normal mode, nightmare isn't really tough so far.
Getting to 60 isn't even the hard part. Most of them are grinding that in a day. Not to mention they exploit the hell out of at the "glitches" in the map design. Almost all maps have choke points where you can trap bigger mobs and sometimes the smaller ones to. I do it in rainbowland to the ponies all the time when I am just to tired to slow/kite them.
Kripp is helpful and gives decent guides but he cheats like most of them. None of them have beaten anything legit yet. Not that people care they just wanna see the end result of him finally beating diablo in inferno hardcore. Athene is just a dbag that loves to troll. Which might be just his thing to get people to pay attention. Kinda like a ufc fighter talking trash before a fight to hype it up and ticket sells go up. But bragging to have fastest kills etc when you have gear/gold spoon fed to you is just LoL. Then talk about his "skill" I get a good laugh from it everytime. Just as you hear from their mouths almost every blog, it's a gear dependent game and when you aren't even doing all the farming yourself I wouldn't really take credit for records. But that's just me and meh it's only a game. World first is world first, I don't think there's any game without glitches to utilize to getting to your goal. I don't think that devalues world first in any way.
I don't think it's a good thing, but it's the developer's fault not the gamer honestly. Don't make AI pathing bad, and players won't be able to exploit it. Can't blame the player for using the tools he's given, even if it's not seen as "legitimate." I too don't see it as as much of an achievement as doing everything by the book. However like I said, if "world first" matters to you, use the tools you're given. Someone help me out. I'm using mnk in inferno with 10k armor, 20% block rate tower shield, 700 all resist with about 80% DR. I sit around 30-40k hp depending on which gearset im using and I still cant hang with half the champs in ACT ONE. Even worse: if i wanna duo with my roommate its a nightmare to kill every group. I literally cant improve my gear unless I increase my life/second from 700 and my life/hit to above 1000 (which is already HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE). It's not even fun to play inferno (or solo which is the only real way i can play) and farming hell for gold is only so fun if buying new gear doesnt make things surviveable.
The legendaries aren't worth getting and the top 5% endgame items are easily farmable in a couple weeks.....so why am I struggling to get through inferno again? Anyway: what am I doing wrong for gearing monk in inferno.... I have like every defensive stat (oh using serenity, light of heaven, evasion mantra with +armor and the +dodge rune on fists of thunder..... literally as defensive as you can get. Oh and deadly reach on right click for a +damage option). So... my wife basically took over my PC when she asked if she could try D3 the other day. Thinking I might surprise her and build her her own machine. What do you guys think of this?
i3 - 2120 ASRock Z68 PRO3 GEN3 MSI nVidia GT 440 Corsair Vengeance 8G (2 x 4G) 1600 MHz Corsair Enthusiast Series 750W PSU Corsair Carbide Series 300R Case The RAM and GPU are both zombie parts under my desk, the rest should only be ~$400. I know it will run it, but dunno if she'd be able to run it on ultra/high settings like I do. Anything else think I should add? A new graphics card obviously, but it will have to wait (think I may get a 670 for myself and toss the 570 in my PC in this a little down the road). WHAT DOES CC MEAN?!
Keep hearing people say it all the time D: crowd control?
basically things like stun, slows, confuse, or other enfeebling abilities that can turn a hard battle with many opponents into an easy one Aha, well that makes sense!
I don't consider it a glitch to use a choke point.
It's a valid military tactic. Didn't you people watch 300? Funnel those suckers in so their numbers count for nothing! I love dragging a slew of mobs into a doorway on my DH and then just opening fire or chucking grenades. Entangling with chain gang helps keep the front ones slowed. Also burst arrow or w.e with the AoE stun is nice for that too. I'm a fan of rapid fire with the slowing rune + the passive that does extra damage to slowed mobs (Cull the Weak, I think).
Edit: actually not a fan of Bola Shot b/c of the delay on hit > damage. Bismarck.Ramyrez said: » I'm a fan of rapid fire with the slowing rune + the passive that does extra damage to slowed mobs (Cull the Weak, I think). So I'm alternating snare and rapid to maximize dmg. I'm only in normal still w/ my DH, so...all things taken with a grain of salt.
