Diablo 3
I think kiting becomes more and more necessary the further you get, especially for wizard. I'm act 2 nightmare on monk and standing still in a pool of lava/arcane beam just isn't an option. Even with high levels of resistance, I imagine they're something that was meant to be avoided to provide a sense of strategy.
Kongming - Close to the end of Act 2 Inferno and yes. Get used to kiting even as a monk. "Dodge" becomes a word more associated with avoiding things, then it does as a stat.
So I guess the chicken video was actually relevant lol.
Makes me hate Wallers even more now. Phoenix.Lillicarnage said: » Made it to Act 2 in nightmare and starting to run into problems VS magic based enemies. I am playing Wizard and pretty much anytime I run into enemies with arcane, mortar, or desecration it turns into a big game of kite/hydra spam and NEVER STOP MOVING. If I hold still for more than a few seconds I get burned up in the blink of an eye, if the enemies get the drop on me it's even worse. Anyone have any suggestions/tactics on dealing with magic rape you in the face mobs? Anything else I handle no problem. I notice that they seem to have gotten rid of diamonds (iirc they were the resistance gems in D2) so that option is out. I like Ice Hydra and IceStorm with either the "freeze" or "mist" runes for kiting, that burst knock-back move with stun rune, ice skin with either durability or cooldown rune, Arcane Missile with split rune, a shield or buff, and whatever for my last slot (Ice burst move, incinerate or meteor) Ramuh.Urial said: » cuz a full broadside is when a ship shoots all the guns on one side of the boat. and it kinda sounds like cannons... if you like pictures then here: imagine this ![]() but more like this That's quite a long correlation of things Volk lol.
Was about to go to bed... 11 hours ago when my friend finally convinced me to check the auction house for upgrades. Trying to catch good deals is so addicting for some reason. Also beats selling old gear for the pennies that NPCs normally give you. I have been wasting sooooo much money crafting ><
Oh and thank you anyone who mentioned using blizzard to slow down mobs when kiting, has made a HUGE difference. Finding that and Venom Hydra work really well together. Spent 6 hours last night with my friends farming butcher on inferno. Took us like 10~15min to farm the 5 stacks of nephalem valor. Got a quite a few good drops

I'd check it out no matter what your level. Just make sure to simplify what you're looking for. Say you're a wizard, search: Wand Rare lvl 10-20 INT+ 10 or 30 Buyout max 10,000 You will be so surprised by the amount of good ***that pops up. Might be able to almost double your DPS for 5k. At that low a level you could even fine tune your search to INT+, attack speed+, and Has Sockets to see what kind of cheap item there is. The AH is definitely all about catching some random good deal with a listed item at 2 days left or 1 day and 23 hours left. Happy hunting! As for wizard builds, I use electrocute as primary. blizzard if I'm kiting, disintegrate if I'm not. Sparkflint familiar, all res+ Energy armor, diamond skin or w/e it's called, and magic weapon or w/e it's called. is the sparkflint familiar the only familiar rune that increases DPS?
while its nifty and all, I found "Magic Weapon - Force Weapon" to enhance this more drastically. and on a side note, would be nice if you'd have an icon on the familiar/magic weapon buff, to at least know when it wears off... D: lol Hahah Volkom it does get boring, that's why you switch to farming or something like that. I spent 7 hours yesterday doing progression in act 2. Now almost done with it. I plan on farming all day today though unless stream watchers want me to do something else.
Is there any specific places where it's good to farm, like in D2? And is it worth just going on farm runs before I hit nightmare\hell at all?

And is it worth just going on farm runs before I hit nightmare\hell at all? basically. the thing is what i do with my friends. is at 60. we try to find elite packs and kill them to get the magic find buff. (stack it to 5 times) then kill the act boss like the butcher or belial or w/e. the way we do it for Act 1. by the time we get the warden we have 5 stacks of it. kill warden, get loot. then kill butcher. and basically we can do all that in about 10~15ish minutes. but besides that. places to farm... basically dungeons and act bosses The day it rains so I dont have to go into work, is the day they want to do another maintenance! Just my luck... hopefully this is quick

Like any other game the money/gold/gil is always best towards the end i.e inferno. Not to say profit can't be made can always stack magic % for chests/elites/champs/bosses and gold + % and run through heavy populated areas like Act 3 Breached Gate. Just be smart with your money can always get decent to awesome upgrades on AH(When its running...) sell what you can, hell even play the AH if you want(Lot of good stuff at low prices you can mark up if you look). Or if your not rushing to get to 60 like most scan entire maps kill everything, (Hulk)smash everything, etc you will get your fill of gold overtime until you can farm the higher level elites etc and play the I hope I get a decent drop for profit game. I seriously *** abhor this server thing right now... if this is how it's going to be with this game (up and down every god damn day) i'm asking for a refund :|
It's their way of helping us not getting addicted!
