I want to play as a Morbol, and only attack AF-wearing SCH's. :p Or wait, maybe Rafflesia. Oh no...Sea Monk! Even better! Oh, the possibilities are endless. "Oh you want to learn Thunderbolt? COME AT ME BRO." You guys know the problem where you would always be 'out of range' when trying to hit a running mob from behind, and the mob can hit you without issue from behind when you're running away? So unless you adventurers have movement speed gear to run to its side to attack or to run away safely, we as monsters can always survive from just running away or dominate if an adventurer is in trouble. This is assuming we will have the mobs' longer attack range as monsters.

One of the biggest issues I see is there will probably end up being one monster that compleatly overpowers most others. : ( Considering you can take a monster model and combine it with another monsters TP loadout I expect to see alot of monster sets with healing abilities or defensive abilities. Things like Gears, Monoceros, Vampyrs, Skeletons, Rabbits. Vampyrs especially seem powerful on paper. Edit: beaten If I can charm a player and regen HP, and then sleep them right before they uncharm... then again, SE will probably not like that.
I would like to see a PvP system identical to Fantasy Earth Zero, another MMO rpg made by square enix that was suppose to be released on Play Online however; due to the limited support it was never released outside japan until sometime around 2008. The English ended up getting shut down in March of 2010, but the PVP system was amazing. If you could imagine if Final fantasy XI had a good PVP system, it translates exactly to what Fantasy Earth Zero was. You can actually still play the game free on the Hong kong servers, but it would mean having to play the UI in Japanese/Chinese (no one has attempted to patch it).
The game had a lot of different elements hat I think would be good for a PVP system in FFXI. First, it had a triangle based rock/paper/scissors type weakness/strengths system amongst classes. Wizard beats Warrior, Warrior beats Scout, Scout beats Wizard. For myself this made the game fun with any classes I played, the game seemed really balanced on the US servers anyway, because they ended up making two more classes Cetsus and Fencer, but it was never released for the English servers. Secondly, they made game reward the most exp from PVP fights. The level range was 1 to 40, and anyone could easily gain ridiculous amounts of experience from doing simple task and not necessarily having to fight people. Let me explain, essentially the pvp system put your on one of two teams with the maximum amount of players being 50 on each team so, 50 vs 50. Each team has Several giant crystals on their side of the map. With some of the giant crystals being closer to the spawn area, and each crystal is distanced away from each other. So, these giant crystals players can rest by to accumulate their individual crystal count, and players work with each other to use these crystals to build buildings, or to turn themselves into basically Odin, and Titan and the like. so, players earn experience without having the kill other players just by accumulating crystals and trading them out, since crystals are earned faster the less you have and 20 is the cap you can get from a crystal, but 50 is the max you can have (traded by a player). so thats the basics, it would be really nice if Square could host Fantasy Earth Zero the game itself on playonline because the game is really awesome.. and I think you should try it. This is the only thing that excites me about the game at the moment(aside from the expansion).
really looking forward to this. BLU should totally get natural bonuses though, we've already mastered the primal power of beasts!

It was a huge flop. And they actually released it into POL... Games that were available at my POL window as of November, 12 of 2005: Code Final Fantasy XI | Jong Holow (Mahjong game, PS2 only) Front Mission Online (at the time PS2 only) | Dirge of Cerberus FFVII (PS2 Only) Tetra Master | Fantasy Earth (Windows only) I still have the wallpapers on my POL Viewer ... After it flopped, they sold it to G-Potato which renamed it again as "Fantasy Earth Zero". :) Back on topic, I will wait to see what will be available and I'll try to pick a monster type which matches my "play style"... lol (I am secretly wishing to play as some kind of arcana type mob lol) this is not really pvp most people was thinking. it more like monster player vs player. they could of easy turn it into a Ballista type of battle. seems like 1 player is force to use a mob vs the player or mob vs mob.
not saying this whole play as a monster would be bad but why we cant have the option to both not be monster if we wanted to? if it was like that also this would be so epic!

bumping cause I want to talk about it without derailing other threads >.>
Gonna start talking about it in other threads to aggravate Kalilla.
Just kidding. =P Nice idea bumping this. So, about that Mog Resort..
I don't mind it, I'm looking forward to this the most out of everything I think. I just think it might prevent other members from participating in conversation if it's about multiple topics at once.
