Soooo just for funzies, what would the ideal BA Charged Whisker setup in Abyssea be now? :3 I plan on hitting up Tahrongi in a few days and would like to update my CW set! This is what I got so far:

ItemSet 309272

Not sure on the hands and legs mostly. Ignore the no grip!

I'd recommend just using a normal sword, you should be fine without it, and you can save tp.

Use a sword for initial CAEfflux+WoR then change to staff after sleep. No real point to be using sword after the pull/WoR

Lol, I already know how to Whisker Burn. :p Just was wondering what the updated CW set looked like! But to be honest I just ended up going PLD/THF and Aeolian Edge burning instead. <_< Takes me too damn long to gear up BLU and I was already on PLD. :3

you can't depend on gearcollector for 100%
it is bugy.
i always ending up leaving something behind from my sets.
for example, i was doing a sword trial on BLU, i'm having a CW set in my XML and GC left Chatoyant Staff in MH >.<;

but in general, it's VERY handy if you got 6 gear sets for the job xD

Perhaps it's an issue with your xml or something? I've never had it forget a single thing unless I placed it in a storage area that GC wasn't configured to get stuff out of. I always check my inventory number before I leave just to make sure it has everything anyway.

sounds like your staff might be a variable somewhere. Or it can also be within your rules section.

GC isn't buggy, it does what it is suppose to. Its simple to test what doesn't get transfer for you to debug why. But you don't have to figure out the why. If you notice your Chatoyant Staff isn't getting moved, then simply create a <set> with the staff in the item list. Unload GC, reload, //gc test boom, works.

It might also be worth mentioning that GC works using the short name of the item. If an item is abbreviated in the item list, you must use the short name. IE: Mv. Bazubands +2 VS. Mavi Bazubands +2

GC doesn't care what tags you use either. It's perfectly fine with this:

<head>Mavi Tayt +2</head> Yep, pants on head!

Or even this:

<asldfkasneadkcake>Mavi Tayt +2</asldfkasneadkcake>

Just so long as the tags match.

What Sekundes said is really important. It won't recognize things unless you use the shorthand in your xml. It's such a lovely program though. I can't count the number of times that I had to gear up a job quickly, but I had to pee or do something important first. Just //gc blu and you can afk for a few minutes!

I have had a few instances where it just refuses to move certain things though - Beneficus on WHM comes to mind. It's in my sets, even in my GC set with all my misc. meds and stuff, spelled right etc. No matter what I do, it just doesn't give a ***about it. Must have slept with GC's mother or something.

Well do have a mini report. BLU/WAR absolutely destroys the shark zone but sucks on Tojil. Haven't tried Bee yet but from what I hear Mastop and the NM both have -PDT effects that Req should bypass. I can't overstate how ridiculously easy Foret NM's were with a BLU, we can get to the MB with 25+ min time remaining and the krab was a complete joke.

Yeah BLU does fine in Foret once your SCHs learn what Pelagic Cleaver is. It should be similarly effective on Bee. Use Scherzo for Scorp.

Almost every piece of high-end gear is getting substantial stat boosts, including a ton of MND. This BG thread has the theoretical new stats - we don't know for sure yet because this is just test server data.

What it really means is that the era of shoehorning nonsense like Praeco Doublet into WS sets where it doesn't belong is over (we hope!).

Just adding a ton of combat skill which translates to tons of attack will help for sure nothing like SE adding basically SV mad and min to every weapon >.>...

The update is also adding all stats of varying amounts to some gear. So you see many many more gear pieces with STR and MND instead of just STR. So it's easier to gear.

Whirlpool mask for example when from a meh req piece to a godly one.

Lots of gear that BLU can wear will got a f*ck ton of other stats added, lots of MND is included in that. Req may have a big attack penalty but it also has an insane amount of fTP (7.2) and can give a giant middle finger to NM's with PDT effects. SE seems to be using PDT and damage mechanics way more often now then before. That along with the twilight scythe nerf makes BLU the best non-elemental damage DD in existence right now. (Murasamemaru has a whopping 111 base DMG btw).

Indeed, I feel like it's at least partially intentional as Murasamemaru being mandatory for anything would be pretty dumb considering its drop rate from a game design standpoint so it makes srnse to try to kill it with competition.

Well Req is available to many different jobs, though with varying degree's of efficiency. Those jobs also have access to the Delve NM sword. I think this was intentional and leaves an option for jobs like WAR / DRK / ect.. to switch to Hala sword and spam Req for a specific segment of a fight. BLU just ends up being vastly superior then anyone else at doing that.
