Omega/Ultima is easy enough on Normal solo sub nin. Only way you really lose is if Omega catches you with Pile Pitch in ws gear.
Why would WS gear matter? Doesn't Pile Pitch work like Throat Stab regardless?

However, they added apex mobs which some parties are beginning to target. They give much more CP/kill, I'm sure it works out to more per hour with a good party, but I haven't personally been in one since I'm not confident my 1k accuracy with acc food will cap my hit rate on them. Pretty easy to kill the bat room, then the room just north of it with three Umbril and three bats, then wait for repops or leave a couple stragglers so you maintain chain. You can also pull down below, or those Hippogryphs, but it gets tiresome running all over the place and having to put buffs up in between. I would buff > gather > Subduction > BA > Spectral Floe on bats, then if any left, Subduction. Head north then buff, gather, Subduction, Blinding Fulgor, occasional Magic Hammer on Umbril here for full MP restore. Got 1200 and 350/350 and if it wasn't capped I would probably have 2000 stored points due to spamming it for friends and LS mates. If you find a PLD pull to pull for you, it's trivially easy and fast. Can even start with Entomb and pretty much forego any buffs besides maybe Occultation and Stoneskin. Personally I've been soloing /THF for the extra TH - so far I'ved lost once due to an unfortunately timed counter :( I am pretty sure those kind of moves will actually 1 shot you if you have any +Damage taken gear. I remember the days when Rancor Collar was our best TP piece this was an issue.
Yeah, I don't do /thf because of pitch > counter lol
Oh wow that makes sense. I forgot about ws gear. I tried it solo on D with trusts and omega got me at 7%. Now i know i just have to be more cautious timing ws's and I should be able to solo on D with trusts since ultima is easier than omega. Kinda want to try right now actually lol.
Edit: fixed spelling errors since i suck at typing on my phone... apparently Why not just use a different piece of equipment for the fight instead of risking it? Seems silly to take such a risk when it's that avoidable.
That's actually what i ended up doing but wiped at 61% due to unlucky string of events. Im sure i can do it with a different back piece but will probably take a few tries and maybe some luck. Will try more on sunday since im heading out of town here shortly.

To be fair you can argue you get TH3 /thf, but really in a KI fight, but big whoop. To be fair without any testing (who would..?) on how much TH 2/3 matters between each other or past TH1 for that matter. Then we can't really know, and I never get on board with that feeling sorta stuff. I just prefer berserk, warcry, attack bonus, and DA compared to one tier of TH. I also don't understand going to N over D when this fight is so easy. Quote: I suppose, but still, anyone not doing D just wants to fight alone :/ Ragnarok.Presidentobama

Will anyone uldate the blue mage hunting guide? Seems three or four spell updates and no spells added.
Ragnarok.Presidentobama said: » Will anyone uldate the blue mage hunting guide? Seems three or four spell updates and no spells added. Just some quick testing has Dampening beating Taeon but losing to Adhemar, both NQ and HQ. Difference is smaller with NQ, obviously, but it's a bit better for TP.
For CDC, Adhemar NQ demolishes Dampening. I find that surprising actually, did you spreadsheet it? Did the Attack matter or was it capped?
In both attack capped and attack un-capped situations, Dampening fell behind NQ Adhemar. However, Dampening is a ridiculously good accuracy piece, so it's great to have around.
What people using for DT sets now? Thinking of this for capping -DT w/shell and still having DD capabilities. Seemed better than mix matching other pieces (saves inv space as well.)
ItemSet 338306 Yeah, buddy of mine and I have been duoing Tiger with double CORs. Just get a random from town to join for free plasm and you just rip through every NM. Pelts all day erryday.
So knocked our the last of my SoA missions last and hades is a mega easy fight with Might Guard and Magic barrier trusts didn't run out of mp at all.
So been looking at the rings and 3 pop out from the rest just looking for some input. Renaye: for that blu skill and refresh, with the amount Mighty Guard costs any extra refresh is welcome. Volcane: obvious reasons. Haverton?: the one with racc DW and snapshot mainly for my cor but could use the DW on blu but is it worth the ring slot? Are there any others I should be looking into? I've also been upgrading some of my older blu set and atm all I have left is my White Wind set atm it's a bit all over with as much hp+ and cure pot as I can get. I'll stick a gear set in soon on my phone so may take a bit and I'll have to remember what I have on since I'm at work currently. I asked this a couple of days ago. If you're going for "best BLU ring", the answer is Weatherspoon. Siren.Kyte

It is a one ring answer, though. You're overselling the alternatives and underselling Weatherspoon.
Would never, ever take Haverton for BLU. It's next to completely worthless. Would take movement speed over it if, for some reason, capping Fast Cast, Quick Magic, and Magic Accuracy on everything ever became so easy on BLU that Weatherspoon became worthless... which isn't going to happen any time soon.
Only time Haverton is applicable is if you use it for some other job that it's actually good for and for some reason can't maintain Mighty Guard and/or Erratic Flutter. |
