Does Critical hit damage + gear affect heavy strike damage since it's an auto-crit?
Yeah. It's why earlier in this thread (I think this thread) some have stated that Loki's Kaftan is slightly better damage than AF+1.

If it's not in this thread, I may have read it in the Heavy Strike thread which is on page 2 of the Blue Mage Forums.

I believe this is true. However toci's trumps both for heavy strike due to the 50% STR mod.

Proth's data on phys spells in the guide says it's 50%. Although i beleive it was thought to be 75% before we knew it was an auto-crit.

Guess I'll edit the FFXIclopedia then. BG says 50% as well.

Also the 16ish accuracy Toci's has on it is a huge bonus. Man I want that Nemactacera Cap from Meebles...what is it again? 13 STR/6Haste/7 acc/7att....fffffffffffffffuck....awesome TP piece and great for certain spells.

I'm going to preface this with stating that I need to re-read this thread again. It's been a while.

I didn't expect to see a single physical spell set in the OP. This is confusing me. As an example, Benthic Typhoon has a 60% AGI modifier. Would you not stack AGI? Or should my question be when does AGI outweigh STR?

Also, do Symbios Gloves have any use?

Inventory considerations make an AGI set for Benthic Typhoon fairly impractical. There are a few slots that can be adjusted if so inclined, but the gains in attack put STR at a nearly 1:1 value vs AGI. I used a couple of AGI pieces back when Benthic was the only way to make darkness with CDC, but not since Amorphic was introduced. The only adjustments I make in my current physical sets are some slight adjustments for STR/VIT spells such as switching Wanion for Beir +1 (don't have Prosilio at present).

They're good for skill-based buffs and debuffs if you've got room and lack Ayao's/Kheper/Khepri, but should never be used for physical spells.

Besides Delta Thrust (and Quad. Continuum?), what spells do you adjust for?

Heavy Strike is a spell I adjust for; simply because its accuracy is so pathetic.

I do switch Wanion for Beir +1 on Benthic since the former has AGI-5, forgot to mention that. Pretty sure that's the only default (capped hitrate, no CA/Efflux) change I make to non-STR/VIT spells. Worth noting that I have Khepri Wristbands, so I don't have to consider any variations in that slot (Heafoc/Myrmex/Athos).

I just realized that I didn't do anything for ranged/ammo on my evasion set. Derp. Leaving my Tiphia Sting on would be counter productive.

Appreciate the answers both here and in RQ, Night. Finally started my windower macros today. Too many sets between WHM, PLD, BLU, and my mule's MNK. I'm sure Sav is going to make me do hers for DNC and BLU (At least it'll be similar to mine) as well.

No problem. Also that reminds me, Furen updated his calculator earlier today to use the correct (old) equations for BLU and also added Plenilune Embrace.

If physical spells are based off of your main hand's skill, Suppanomimi would add accuracy, correct?

Yep. Skill does affect main hand acc so it affects physical spell acc.

Are BLU sleep spells like Dream Flower still modified like normal spells? (i.e. dark staff, etc.)

Macc wise? Yeah, though Yawn and Sheep Song are light-based of course. Not sure what element Pinecone Bomb's additional effect falls under.

yes

Dream, soporific= dark, chatoyant

Yawn, sheep song= light, chatoyant

macc/blu skill for sticking but anything you would be sticking with respectable blue magic shouldn't be an issue so it's easy to skip using staves unless it's undercapped

My BLU skill is currently gimped. I'm level 95 with level 89 skill. Figured it couldn't hurt to toss the dark staff in since I have it out for my hmp set.

Edit:
And I may be having a little too much fun with windower macros...
