[dev1116] Guild Merchant Waiting Period
Great news for fishers and crafters everywhere
Note "shortened". Not "eliminated".
Room for improvement still exists. Never made sense to me that regular NPC vendors don't have that wait, but guild merchants do. Just plain silly. Bismarck.Ramyrez said: » Note "shortened". However, they should just sell the stuff full time like a standard merchant and then there would be no need, ever! Normal NPC's don't have limited stock that increases in price exponentially when it's purchased constantly. I understand why they put the limit in place but in my opinion, the price should be fixed, supply should be unlimited and they should not have limited hours or guild holidays.

Edit: The delay was more than likely put in place to ensure Player A couldn't buy out everything instantly but even then maybe it's just me but I don't see the Guild Shop NPC spamming like there used to be say back in the day with Cocoons. The pause was implemented during 2007s or so due to RMTer mules camping all guilds and emptying most of the base items from guilds to craft, effectively dominating the market and prices. I'm sure there's still mules camping Guilds for the same purpose, but during that time most guilds were run out of the basic items to craft by xx:05 of their opening hours.

I've been playing more or less since NA launch and I seem to recall it always being there. But my memory gets fuzzy. |
