Cure 6 nerfed?
Can anyone kno what happened to cure 6? used to do 1600-1700 b4 cure update, now my cure 5 hit around 1110 cure 6 1200 ish, whats wrong whit it? the new healing formula don't apply to it? anyway this difference just stink of nerf........
They nerfed it by about 10% when the new formula rolled in.
no clue. i did somewhere in the 1600 range before hand. and i do somewhere in the 1600 after. i didnt notice any difference. if i remember right, the update only effected cure1-4 anywyas. dont hold me to that, but ive personally noticed zero difference.

It was only supposed to, but they noticed it had quite an impact on V and VI so they weakened those two spells. dunno if its cuz my healing magic is capped or something then cuz yah. i dont know the exact numbers before/after update, cuz of the various mind boosts from VW and abyssea, but i know it was something around 1150 cureV and 1680 cureVI and thats still what i do since akvan last night. could just be that its largely based on healing magic now but i noticed no impact since ive been capped while most whm probly arent close. not to judge or point fingers. just trying to find some reason as to why thered be a difference to some and not all.
Both spells were made weaker, you will see difference if you compare your Cure V to Curaga IV or Cure VI to Curaga V
yeah well,my healing magic not capped, but should be around lvl 95 or so,maybe when i cap at 99 the difference will be less.
Would be nice if someone can confirm that 1 healing skill is 2 mnd even for cure 5 6 as well,i couldnt find any info on this matter either. The power formula (1 skill = 2 mnd = 4 vit) is identical for all 6 of the single target cures; they just each have their own scaling rates.
Cure V before and after the change should be nearly identical. They completely revamped the formula, but the end result is pretty close to what it used to be as long as you adjust your gear to account for the new formula. Cure VI got penalized by 10%-15%, depending on how you measure it, and what gear sets you're using when you compare. well just did some VW and my curaga IV does the same as my CureV so i dont see what you are talking about. i guess i broke the internet or something
the ga-type spells always cured the same as a tier higher single target counter parts.
example curaga1=cure 2 aoe, curaga V would be cure VI i readed on bg tho, that cura and curaga line of spells still use old formula where 1 mnd = 3 vit = 5 skill
Using same armor, I get 1180 Curaga IV and 1129 Cure V. They are different now, and Cure VI was weakened much worse. Cura curaga were left alone. Curaga 4 and 5 should do the same as the old cure 5 and 6.

Since you didn't provide your actual stats to go along with that picture, will try to back-calculate things. Assuming you're at 50% cure potency: 1180 Curaga IV means 787 base amount cured 1129 Cure V means 753 base amount cured 787 Cure V under the old formula required 1110 power. 753 Cure V under the new formula requires 610 power. If we assume capped healing skill (424), but exclude merits, and add in 25 skill from AF3 body and Augur hands, we get 449 skill total (will round up to 450 for easy math). Under the new formula, that means you need another 160 power from mnd and vit. Assuming an approximate 3:2 ratio between the stats, that means 240 mnd and 160 vit. If we apply those same values to the old formula, we get 3*(240+450/5) + 160 = 1150 power. That implies that mnd and vit stats were closer to each other than the above estimate. This could be done with 220 mnd and 180 vit to reach 1110 power, while those same stats would give 605 power in the new formula. Close enough. Now do that exact same comparison outside abyssea. Drop mnd and vit by 70 points each to account for lack of cruor buffs. Old: 830 power == 737 base for Cure V New: 552 power == 735 base for Cure V And there you go, almost identical. Also remember that the amount shown to be cured using the new formula is slightly weakened because I didn't work out the exact stat combo (went with just 605 power instead of the actual 610). Basically, you're not wearing 'just' the same gear; you're using the same gear plus a ton of extra stat buffs. Since the raw stats are worth more under the old formula, the combined effect will go down when using the new formula. Essentially, your comparison only works in Abyssea because of the significant boosts to mnd in there. Since the value of mnd was reduced, and there is no replacement you can switch to, of course the results for your cures will go down. However in terms of just what you can actually gear for without the excess buffs of Abyssea, there is almost no real change for Cure V (Cure VI is still worse, though). Does relic pants and af+1 hands become better now from this?
I know already the new limited for the spell, just showing for the person that said that they are the same that they are not.
Here I put new maximums for the spells when they were first changed on test server If you really care to back calculate: Healing Magic 459 Mnd 234 Vit 138 and yes, Cure+50%. If you're wondering why healing magic so low, I cast Cure V with Curaga macro armor and I do not use empyrean body for that because it does not get stoneskin. |
