On Topic: (These are only my opinions, others may disagree)

BST -> STR or DA axes and merit ruinator.
DRG -> Occ. attacks twice polearm and merit stardiver.
NIN -> Kannagi is an awsome weapon, game changer for NIN

SAM -> Masa or Amano, not sure which is the better weapon, but you'll want to merit and use Tachi:Shoha probably, I.E. you wont be making the weapon for Fudo or Kaiten, you'll only use those to trigger aftermaths.

Wut?

shoha is ridiculously overpowered with his nearly x2 damage jump from 100%-200%, kaiten nor fudo can compare

WHM
MNK/SAM
THF/DNC
DRG/BST (sorta; I like them both as much)
NIN (very bottom of the list lol)

Twash shines once it gets to 99. Since you have it already use it, but look at this thread for advice on how to optomize DNC.

WHM nothing stands out as being worth the time and effort relic/empy wise

SAM get 90 masa. its not too hard and a very good weapon amano vs masa vs tp bonus

MNK both are nice

THF mandau 99 (but you want to bring it to VW so like you said THF doesnt get many invites so might not be best choice]

BST STR axe is tops for ruinator dont bother with relic or empy

DRG above advice seams sound

NIN empy is great and easy to get.

conclusion: with the currency you are getting from dyna you will probably get more increase by selling it and using the money to pimp your current jobs gear sets or by upgrading an empy to 95/99

Guttler is still the best Axe for Bst.

whether or not it's worth making for Bst is another story.

Be cautious in taking information from this thread, loads of misinformation with a few gems of knowledge stuck in. Just make what you want really, can't go too badly outside of making a few terrible weapons.

so zerg situations where you have minuets and chaos rolls? even on ADL zergs i havent seen kaiten or fudo beat out shoha. granted those sams could be always waiting until 200% to use said shoha

Well, I'm just trying to avoid making terrible weapons hahah All in all, they're all nice, and eventually maybe someday I'd like to have multiple empys and relics hehe Just wanted some advice as to which to do first. :)

Thanks again everyone for your input!

Even the commonly accepted 'best polearm', Ryunohige, takes some effort and optimized situations to eke out a measurable advantage over Gungnir. Gungnir is a no-brainer for a DRG. Rhongomiant is a no-go.

Not to thread jack, but I'd like to hear about the effort and optimized situations? Ryu is a lot further ahead than you think.

I don't have a hard time keeping AM3 up in any situation. /sam and paying attention to jump timers is all that's needed. With a true 5-hit, the weaponskill frequency with ryu is insane, not to mention the 30% damage increase to drakes.

Ya Shoha is completely out of Fudo/Kaiten's class. It's no match for it. Though it's good to Fudo for your Double Damage DPS.

i dont think there are any BAD weapons, just weapons that arent as well suited for the job as others. for instance, if gugnir didnt exist, rhongomiant (sp) would still be viable.

...actually i think terpischore and nagi are pretty bad weapons now.

With your job selection, I would personally finish verethragna to 90, and then work on Spharai. Both are excellent weapons, and each have their own place depending on what you are fighting/buffs.

Yeah. Jump on the Ragnarok bandwagon.

So disgusted. A lot of these are people who wouldn't have even thought about Ragnarok three years ago. They would have made fun of it.

It's just one playstyle vs. another. I'm well aware of that. I just really despise the flavor of the month club. Love a job before you make a relic for it. Otherwise it's just some toy you'll get bored with and -- at best -- you just wasted your own time with it. At worst, you wasted the time of friends and linkshell members to boot.

Why would they bother to make it 2 years ago when it sucked 2 years ago? New gear/WS/buffs come along in MMO's and make good gear ***and ***gear good. It's how MMO's work, they evolve and change. Your being grumpy for the sake of being grumpy.

well one update can change anything, ive always wanted to main greatsword, but it never really had that great of a weaponskill. when updates happen, it changes the way we play, and open up new options for weapons that were typically found to have not much use.

Going to deal with these in numbered order.

1. Would expect to be capped pDIF on most the mobs in neo-nyzul isle but still yet to try it D: Also can't remember if embrava add's an attack bonus as that's the usual strategy and would favour kaiten/fudo in NI even more.

2. Why would a SAM wait until 200tp on ADL? Unless they have turned to watch for the split, which makes parsing ADL pretty pointless anyway. But high buff/zerg situations when the +40% attack bonus that shoha recieves can be made up from buffs would make fudo/kaiten the better choice.

3. Shoha is an impressive WS but only out classes fudo/kaiten in 2 area's. Lolabyssea (trip att procs yay) and mobs where players have no hope of capping pDIF.

Ever played a fighting game where someone ONLY picks A~S tier characters? It gets old fast, especially the bigger the disparity between the ranks. There's a reason people boo people who pick Phoenix in MvC3 tournaments.

Straw men don't give it any more of a basis in rationality.

Your version of fun is legitimate, and others' is not. If you're all going to make illogical blanket statements that fall apart within seconds of giving them a lick of thought, own them.

I never implied it wasn't fun, you inferred that out of my statement, essentially sticking words in my mouth. It's tiresome is what it is, especially the bigger mouth said play-to-win-for-fun player has.
