10 pdt is far better.
there's no comparison really.
10 DEF would probably protect you from a fly moving at a terminal velocity of 2km/hr toward your chest or something.
10% PDT would protect you from ten King Behemoths casting a charged up baller physical damage Meteor of legend.

PDT axe on anything of value. I only use my Pallas's if I gotta single wield such as /THF /BLM or w/e but usually in that circumstance the mobs I'm up against are of no consequense so the Def. is moot.
