I wouldn't be looking at doing this for a workout, I'm conditioning to be an athlete again; but I would love proper training on true sword technique. I've broken a few fingers with a bouken, myself. And don't kid yourself, arms are a huge point of importance with swords, especially two-handers. Thrust and control are something that even veterans have to maintain.

My Katana was 2700 from back when I actually had disposable income... But if you ever get a chance to visit their forge or one of the faires they open shop at, I'd recommend holding a few of them or seeing if they'll let you slice a tatami mat. It's epic fun.
