Superstitions in FFXI!
One that annoys me no end is; destroying the Forcer in MMM gimps the final exp from the chest
I've seen some of the superstitions in the past, like AF drops in Dyna being affected by certain days, moon phase, etc. I never really got into crafting because I didn't feel as though the moon phase thing was worth the hassle.
Personally, my own little superstition (ritual might be a better word) is when I'm learning spells on BLU, I try to always land the killing blow with a multi-hit spell, preferably bludgeon. I just seem to learn moves a lot more on the first time when I do that instead of meleeing it or killing it with a WS. I know it's silly and probably has no actual basis to it, but it just feels like good luck to me. Playing robot rock by daft punk will ensure a 100% win rate in maat fight
Lower level ear/rings on the left, higher level ones on the right.
1. My Rajas, Brutal, Suppa have been in the same spots since I got them
2. I had a nightmare once something bad happened a 4:39a.m (idr what even now) so I won't start any event or pop an NM at 4:39 a.m or p.m. 3. Always light a smoke before engaging/poping a mob and it will drop what you want. Always /bow or /cheer a pixie after it cures you...
because if you dont, when you need a cure at most, it will just fly by you and completely ignore the fact that you're at 10hp Quetzalcoatl.Dawnn said: » Always /bow or /cheer a pixie after it cures you... because if you dont, when you need a cure at most, it will just fly by you and completely ignore the fact that you're at 10hp I thought I was the only one who did this, lol Leviathan.Dastrian said: » Quetzalcoatl.Dawnn said: » Always /bow or /cheer a pixie after it cures you... because if you dont, when you need a cure at most, it will just fly by you and completely ignore the fact that you're at 10hp I always do that. Irregardless of needing a cure or not. I even /wave when i see one while I'm on a chocobo! Not 100% or anything but i seem to learn better when i land the finishing blow with blu magic Bismarck.Elderberry said: » Always get naked before facing Maat. I can't remember any other superstitions atm, but here are a few adages I heard a lot: There is always a bunny SOMEWHERE that can kick your ***. Playing FFXI is like being in an abusive relationship. You have -100 evasion while casting utsusemi
Take a Break for a couple of months
come back and go 1/1 on VW drops I swear to god, I've seen this multiple times. This isn't me, but I know someone who thinks if you keep tp at 300 you skill up more...

Usually the next mob would drop the stuff I need (thats after farming for 2hrs no drop) I rem once I was trying to HQ Wleg for my friend, i was 0/11 then I said "OK TRHIS IS THE LAST ONE ITS GOING TO HQ!" Started crafting and offed my sound and monitor. Turned it on 1min later and its HQ >_>" Trading cells improves VoidWatch drop rates.
I sternly believe the mob has increased crit hit rate when you blind it. for this reason, i dont even have a blind macro.
Superstitions that are irrelevant to how one plays the game make me laugh, but ones like that.. my face kind of drifts into the position of my avatar alongside the thought of, "What the *** are you thinking?"

It seemed like every second day it would be amazingly good, and every other day it would curse the hell out of my teams. It was so noticeable and so reliable that every different group I did stuff with actually planned around my Treasure Hunter.
Friends would ask me "Hey, is today a Treasure Hunter day?" I'd be told to come Thief one week to Dynamis, and then told to come Red Mage the next. Not 100% or anything but i seem to learn better when i land the finishing blow with blu magic I do that too, but the real answer is that we do it because we are too lazy to manually swap our skill+ gear, so we auto swap them by using a spell, its a hidden effect :p Latest trend I've noticed, getting a white proc in Dynamis greatly increases your chances of getting another white proc soon after.
If you are having trouble procing with your locked sub DNC, anyone attempting to help proc on an unlocked job will proc on the first try. Directions in crafting
