summon a trust at highest ilevel you can (so wear full 119) and pianissimo songs on the trust, it takes longer per cast but you'll get *massively* higher skillup rates and it will go faster overall

if running a lua, check and see how its set up. Most will use the Relic Feet if a GEO-bubble is placed, so if you run off without blowing up your bubble you won't be in the AF+3 speedy feet.

Does Spirit Taker see any use in endgame MP restoration upkeep? Just leveling BLM right now all chill and stupid like, and at 300% TP it's dealing like 1020 damage and restoring all my MP.
no, iirc spirit taker (ST) restores less MP than myrkr if you gear for it (could be wrong here), ST misses the remove status ailment bonus, ST is a physical attack which means it can miss and you need to stand in melee range.

there was another advantage in combination with gearswap (GS) i can't remember, i think with GS you don't even need to be engaged to a mob in order to use it while without GS you still have to be engaged or something along those lines.

There are strats with TP supression in mind outside of RDM lvl 1 dagger which describe subbing /DRK absorb TP and SMN or /SMN mewing so depite never trying myself i'm pretty sure it works on HTBF Odin.

No bubbles, equipviewer shows feet are on. Just feels off, I don't know how else to explain.

At first i thought he woukd be worse than lilith due to having no drops in like 5 fights, then he started to drop easily once i gave up BRD and used double GEO. He also likes double dropping so i guess i shouldnt need to worry in the end

Sometimes i feel the same with my RUN.

I guess its because the animation of him running doesnt feel like the legs are moving fast enough… or maybe using too much bolters, then you feel like something is missing without it

Movement speed target info comes back normal 18 but the 2 Tarus I am tabing back and forth on behave and feel very differently in terms of movement.

The geo constantly gets stuck and lags behind
Same fps
Lua unloaded or disabled to prevent swaps for testing

Edit both have 18% no cheer

You can also cast Threnody, Elegy, and Nocturne onto goldfish in sea and Escha-Ru'Aun. You'll get much faster skill up rates and the goldfish won't hit you unless you do something that'll damage them

Taru's are far more aerodynamic. I outrun most of my Sortie static yet they still don't believe me.

Mithra seems pretty quick, Galka kinda slow but awesome tankish, and taru tough as hell to keep up with.

But I can definitely empathize feeling that running speed can be slow. Let's see, I have one bind that sets dim ring and warp ring and locks so I have to be careful with that. I regularly check run speed readout to make sure in general something's not off, very important when testing a lua. I keep run speed in default idle set but a geo would probably need to use the "kite keybind" to activate run speed.

You guys don't use itemizer with your warp ring?

The two Tarus move at different speeds. It's not a elvaan vs taru thing.

It seems to just be a different calculation against NPC/mob vs against other players. Sea goldfish are only in the 70s, trusts are 119(+KIs). Would probably make sense to do goldfish until you get near the cap for them, though. Didn't think about escha ones, those are probably great.

Update Re: Random 4001 Disconnections back to Char Select Screen:

Since I mentioned it here previously I thought I'd put a little FYI here:
Previously I was getting random 4001 disconnections on Windows 11 *only* when FFXI was alt tabbed to the background. (In particular when Alt tabbed to notepad++ Which I use frequently)

Apparent Fix:
Turn off HAGS (Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling) in Win 11
This is enabled by Default in windows 11? Not sure, or because I have a 40 series card I turned it on when I built a new pc.

Using the Xbox game bar I was eventually able to narrow it down and reproduce the issue almost instantly, where FFXI would drop to 0%/0% in the background, and the fps would dive to 0.

Turning off HAGS appears to finally fix this. :) (Crossing my fingers /grin)

Nah, they're fine. I dual box and often /follow my main with my alt's GEO wearing Geomancy Sandals +3. When I'm wearing 18% movement speed on the main, the GEO doesn't fall behind. In comparison, when I'm using something like WHM BLM with 12% feet on the alt, eventually it will fall further behind if the other character is using 18%.

Though if you feel like you're getting no movement+, make sure your lua is correctly swapping the right piece in?

EDIT: Oh I see you turned it off and still seem to be having issues. Not sure what it is, but it's not a flaw with the shoes themselves. Those work just fine for me, and I haven't seen others reporting an issue with them.

Another thoughts: make sure you aren't using something on your other character that makes that one move FASTER than usual (no judgment lol), maybe you have something like that set up inadvertently and it makes the "correct" speed on your GEO Taru feel slower based on the comparison?

Effective movement speed also drops noticeably when you /follow someone up a ramp or a set of stairs. For example, the long staircases in WoE and Odyssey can cause a pretty big gap by the time the first char gets to the top.

It doesn't actually stack with anything, it's just "movement speed +2%" so it loses to any movement speed item. Which is a shame.

It does stack quite well actually, but of course it doesn't allow you to go beyond the 60% movement speed cap.
