well not EVERYTHING is slower. like scrolling over an item and having a window bubble or whatever popup is faster. but starting it up or loading a page is slower.

You could try doing this edit, I did this myself (when it says change to 30, change to 8, FF doesn't go any higher then 8 so it's a waste) and it got a big speed boost.

Basically, since you have high speed, it allows FF to use more connections to get pages online then the default, which I think is 1 or 2. I use it during FFXI and it hasn't impacted anything at all.

Just a shot, I dunno how it'll work for you but made a big difference to me...

Don't go crazy, but DEFINITELY get FFXI helper, adblock plus, and no script. They take a little getting used to, but are VERY worth it. If you add too much stuff (like dozens of add ons), you can slow it down, so it's a happy medium...

Also, I.E. Tab is nice to have, it lets you use I.E. within FF, like parallels with a Mac and PC. Sometimes, if a page is scripted all to hell, it's easier to just switch to the I.E. version that doesn't block all that stuff.
