I share some of Kungfu's pessimism except I put myself down instead of others. Sounds like you got a bad streak of being played in the past, but I'm sure someone out there is honest. Sadly, that ratio is getting more and more narrow these days.

Those who have the will, patience, and dedication to remain steadfast and faithful to make it work get alot of respect from me. More power to them for making something seemingly impossible work out. Making up lies and maintaining them is just too much damn work for me. Not to mention getting caught in them eventually...

Vegas is a really shitty place to live. Great to visit and get wasted for a special occasion for a night filled with drinking, gambling, flings and other vices but frankly, this is not a place I'd wanna spend any more than a few weeks in. Going on 7 years now, and it continues to suck badly. Need to get the *** out of this city. Besides, I'm a lonely drunk. I sit at home and play FFXI and send my liver into oblivious during my free time. My combined pessimism with all the nuts in this city makes for one fed and *** up combination. That's not necessarily true. Many people (myself included) are introverts, and don't enjoy socializing to actually find someone outside of the internet. Also, finding someone who you actually like can be a problem unless you happen to stumble upon the right person randomly. People are by nature selfishly motivated, and unfortunately many are willing to go above and beyond white lies to get what they want, regardless of who they hurt or step on in the process.

Only time I drink is socially cause well it's no fun being the only sober person. Plus I can be pretty nervous in social situations and so helps lossen me a little and get me back to being normal me faster. Not to mention drinking games are fun times.

Arte, a place like Tally would be good for you, its not as active and busy as Vegas. I'm more nervous with everythign socially until I get well adjusted to it. So speaking in front of group not so hard for me. Dealing with messed up weird people easy. Hanging out with friends sure. Random new people not so much. Girls I like ouch. I have however gotten pretty good at talking about any and everything to hide such nervousness but in the end its probably counterproductive even if it does fool most people.

Aye, there's not "magical" age of responsibility, understanding or making important decision for one's self. This is why Cassi has a great deal of respect from me. She has been wise, confident and mature in her own choices of independence more so than most people even 5-10 years older than her.
Despite the limitations, obstacles and put downs, she's made it through and has become a very mature, smart, responsible and independent person.
