I dont think anyone overall likes the current fishing except those peopel taht spout all taht botting and rmt crap but really its still easily bottable. The one upside is you can bettter tell what you have on your line thereby avoiding line/rod breaks alot easier if your not botting. Skillups arent that bad really I used to get 1-2 lvls a day or 2-4 if I had pelican ring. At no cost and making some nice money along the way not bad really. But yeah I miss the days of /fish /wait soemthing /fish maccros. This minigame is kinda HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE.

Question, out of all the Final Fantasy games made, did we ever have to repair any weapons or armor? No I'm guessing right?

No, there's never been an "armor repair" thing in any FFs. That's been more along Blizzard's forte however it would add a nice realistic touch to the game if done correctly. I rather have it be more in depth than simply spending a repair fee in town every "x" amount of fights or damage taken.

Yeah um just don't do it at like past midnight like a certain someone I leave game on alot and that chime will get me up lol. Wouldn't have minded that one too much if it had been a certain cute girl and not some dude... /sigh

I do agree that it's nice to know what's on the line.

I guess I just need to be more patient. It's just hard when I fish for a couple hours without a single skillup. Kinda discourages me from continuing. (Also, I know skillups are going to be slower than normal due to going the skillup-while-catching-moats-too route)

Well what I was thinking is kinda have it along the line of how Bethesda does it: Have a (key) item obtainable through a quest using a profession/craft skill, and the higher your skill is the less time or effort it takes to repair, maybe even adding a beneficial stat to your armor for being so skilled at repairs for a like 30 hours or something.

The point is making the game more realistic. If you have ever used any type of blade at all, you'd know that even in normal use cutting substances that aren't that hard dulls the blade. Now take that same blade and swing it against steel/iron/etc. armor... It's going to dull after awhile. :P

Realistic games are for gays. Repair idea is fail.

Seriously if you stick to kidas skillup guide you should get 1-2 lvls a day everyday unless you get a pelican ring which pretty much doubles that. Carp route is kinda crap now btw. Look at the price of carp and how much lu shangs cost. Its like 500k more to turn in carp. Hell I'll sell you one of mine for 2.5mil which is a bit underprice but I'm tired of AH price slashes way below what its worth and putting it up which cost like 50k by itself.

I believe the most gil I've ever had at once was 300k. I tend to spend it on crafting once I get amounts like that. (the last 20 or so levels of cooking were NOT fun at all)

That and I want the quest done.

Edit2: Ah, that's one of the guides I've used when deciding what/where I was going to fish. Maybe I'll go the skillup route for a while.

Google says Final Fantasy, in any spinoffs or anything, has never incorperated armor/weapon breaks into a game. Maybe because you get a new weapon every 4 seconds that is stronger than your last?

I can't help but pity people who want to make FFXIV "more realistic". Yeah, that's just what I want. To come home from a shitty job, have argued all day, my dog got ran over by a car, my wife left me, I got a bad haircut, my cable isn't working and I had to search an hour for my Xbox controller. EXACTLY what I want to do is jump on a game that is just as frustrating and as full of ***as the irl day I had.

No. Last I heard, playing a game was about activating suspension of disbelief and immersing yourself in somewhere interesting, fun and different from irl. What's a word for that...oh yeah. Fantasy. A fantasy world. OH! I GET IT! Final FANTASY! gtfo with your "realism" in video games. Until I can jump 40 feet in the air, and jump on turtles and have gold coins pop out their ***, realism can stay in real life.

Phew.. Good thing you don't play any games that strive to have life-like graphics. Like... Any of the latest sports/fighting/simulation/fps games.

I like to play a game different and have alliances wipe to a genbu then laugh at it.

I like to laugh at people who do things like that then do it with much less lol. Like omegas always funny to here a whole allaince wiping to something that I've done with 7-10 easy with no fails. Rule one of most HNMs giving them tp is BAD!!!

Yeah, except the point to FPS is to enjoy it. Everyone has thoughts of shooting mother *** in the face after a bad day. Except they shoot back. And people don't like to get shot irl. So you shoot people in a game. SAME WITH RACING. Want to drive 200MPH in a Mustang? Wait, I can't afford one. And even if I could, I'm not risking crashing it and killing myself AND my car. Sports games just fail.

People play games to have fun and enjoy (well, not so much a lot of lolpeople on XI that play to have a huge internet *** cause mommy or any woman never loved them). Too much realism in a game becomes a chore. If I want to waste time repairing ***, I'll go fix the hole in my wall that I did while drunk. Not waste time repeairing pixels.

Might as well go play your original Nintendo or the first generation of FPS's though if you don't want realism.

I have been making a good 100-200k a day off fishing. Mostly npc fish. Right now its a bit better especially when I can get a big money fish to sell. The gp body is very much worth it btw
