looking though the blade hi suggestion in other threads a lot of them seem to like the elemental belt

I'm thinking if you don't need that +10 acc, windbuffet wouldt be a better increase in average

Elemental belt is a +0.97 increase on ftp
lets rounds it to 0.1 as to bias it for elemental belt

blade hi is a 1hit ws so dual wield its 2 hit

wind buffet has a "Triple Attack"+2% "Quadruple Attack"+1% pieces
so thats 2% chance of getting in 2 extra hits and 15 chance of getting in 3 extra hits each hits increases you ftp with 1.0 not counting for hit rate yet

ths is 2%*2 + 1*3% = 7% increase in ws swings per swing in ws
since blade hi is 2 hit in DW setup thats is then 14% chance of getting an extra swing in average

14%* 95% hit rate = 13.3 increase in hits
each hits gives a +1.0ftp

so the average ftp increase is 1.0ftp* 13.3% ? 0.13ftp

So basically windbuffet belt increase the ftp with 33% more than a elemental belt would do in a 2swing ws

This should be true for all 2 hit ws (uko. shoha)
Am i missing anything ?

-- edit --

off cause wind buffet belt would be more spikey ( does it proc or not) and elemental belt would be more stable ws outputs since it procs on eery ws.
but in average windbuffet belt shoud better

I use windbuffet for Ukko's and the spike damage is pretty awesome. You would probably want to do ele gorget/rancor mantle/windbuffet, considering what you already have in those slots.

Never hurt to just try it out as well. Afaik the belt is still pretty inexpensive. :D

Hopefully the set bonus is in tiers and doesn't require the whole set to get some sort of boost.

Wrong headpiece?

And wrong offhand if you're talking about the DA path magian.

If anything I think Hi gear went back to being highly situational this update if you permit Nyzul gear. We got several DEX pieces in the last big update that also had compelling damage stats for Hi (Ocelomeh/+1, Koga Kyahan +2, Athos's Tabard/Boots), so you could rock a moderately DEX-heavy set everywhere and only needed to make minor adjustments to match the situation. Thaumas gear adds new non-DEX options in the head and leg slots, so low/high dDEX sets diverge again. Feet would also be useful for Hi if you're using head/legs and there's a partial set bonus.

I know wrong off hand that was just an after thought, same w/ the /war comment.

I am making my mule into a brd main go figure, so any more delay reduction from dual wield is pretty low, that set makes 26% and an insane amount of multi-hits, with my brd box I will be 100 fist ninja.

I realize that some of the slots could be better for various other content, and alternate builds to achieve similar results.

This set just looks way too fun not to try for. It is almost like a joytoy or something. I want to get an epilepsy attack from watching my toon swing.
