Selection between battle capability of pets/Treasure Hunter
This was an exploration, because the current team doesn't know what it's doing, of where the beastmaster job has been placed; a job that focuses on fighting alongside a jug pet, or a job that focuses on Treasure Hunter. We felt that the former was much more fitting and believe that you all feel the same, but even if you don't, it doesn't matter so QQ on the forums 'cause someone put 30 minutes of coding work into this and that just can't be taken back that easily.
I think This adjustment is not for BST (even though they are the ones upset about it).
I think They are going to introduce equipment to enhance the TH of pet jobs, on all jobs. To counter this adjustment SE lowered the TH on jug pets who have TH already. This will allow these pets to return back to the TH they were at before, while giving TH to other jug pets as well as other pet jobs.
I think This whole adjustment is about giving TH to jobs that focus on using pets.
I don't want to see this being a BST only thread when it really shouldn't be. It dominated any part of the conversation before and I would like to see other jobs coming into the discussion other than the BST nerf.

Please don't say things as if they're official that you made up. Nothing they said implied that they're going to release Pet: TH+ for any job other than BST.
※These pets will have a base of Treasure Hunter I, but by using equipment that has “Pet: Treasure Hunter +” the effect will become stronger.
from OP
And nowhere does it say that any other jobs will be able to equip that gear. The only thing that can be directly inferred from the post is that they will release Pet: TH+ gear for BST.
※The current focus of this adjustment is for familiar pets, but in the future if automatons and avatars are given Treasure Hunter, we will be adopting the same policy.
It is a bst nerf, were losing something so other jobs can have it. I dont see this done with any other pet or any other pet job. I 100% believe it was directly related to dynamis, dipper has been out since abyssea was released and now its an issue. They can release pet th gear for other jobs and leave bst off of it
in my opinion as a BST i think it stinks, but as any sub THF i think it would suck more cuz you lose the ability to use TH2 as /thf from my understanding.
personally im more upset that se hasnt given us a bst pet that can use magic than TH being reduced but thats my 2 pennies
No, but I can prove that they didn't say they were going to do it. The way you put it so matter of factly when you don't have proof really ... to put it quite frankly, hurts your credibility.
I don't care if I'm wrong, I just ask that people don't fight about this BST nerf and get into it again. I asked for this topic to be unlocked to update the news and allow discussion again after it has cooled off.
I just ask that people don't fight about every little thing someone says and just discuss appropriately.
Also, when the post is BST,BST,BST,BST,BST,BST,BST,(if we decide to give other pet jobs TH too, we'll adopt the same policy),BST,BST,BST,BST,BST,BST,BST...I really don't see how you can interpret that the adjustment is for pet jobs in general.

You should really avoid blatant theorycrafting because, like it or not, if you say something, a lot of people will think it's official because you're the one who posts these updates.
They didn't say they were going to release Pet TH gear for other jobs, so you shouldn't say that they are. If you said, "they might," that would be a different story and I'd have no argument.
who cares omg. bst is getting slapped with the nerf bat. deal with it.
also they didnt say any other pet job would get TH+ gear so dont say they did. thats all simple as that. we dont need false information being spread around.
so stop flooding the thread with nonsense.
Edit: the nonsense thing at the end was directed to QQing and such not your posts kali about TH+gear for all. just wanted to clear that up
i find this a good thing tbh think of it if with this new gear u can slap th4+ on ur pet thats pretty badass if u ask me as oposed to the original TH amount now on 2 pets.

kind cool SE thinking outside the box.
thats my 2 cents
While I can't say for sure, I highly doubt that they would deem THIII to be too potent for BST to wield, then turn around and give them that much or more through gear.

I'll be sure to label my opinions and theories more clearly in the future.
That said, their big "if" on the comment about SMN/PUP leads me to believe they currently have no plans to give SMN/PUP any form of native treasure hunter.

It just doesn't make a lot of sense.

Yeah from the wording I see them having Bst as TH2 pet gear included. Hopefully it is two pieces of TH gear, however I will believe that when I see it.
If Smn/Pup doesn't at least get to equip this TH gear the entire exercise will have been pointless, and will just be another example of SE not wanting to do work to correct an issue "We thought about adjusting the drop tables, but meh that sounds like work. Instead we'll just nerf it up."
I can no longer express this on the official forum seeing as the thread over there got me banned ><
...adjusting the drop tables because BST has too much TH was the worst idea ever. I'm glad they left that one on the cutting room floor, because that would have screwed over everyone.

As an adjustment to the balance of Treasure Hunter at level 99, the below pets will have their Treasure Hunter effect changed to Treasure Hunter I.
-Dipper Yuly
-Faithful Falcorr
※These pets will have a base of Treasure Hunter I, but by using equipment that has “Pet: Treasure Hunter +” the effect will become stronger.
Here is the premise regarding the hierarchy of the Treasure Hunter effect (from strongest to weakest).
Thief
Ranger
Support job thief
Other jobs
※As ranger received the new “Bounty Shot” as a support ability, it is now slightly more beneficial than a support job Treasure Hunter when effectively used.
However, with the increase in the level cap from 75 to 99, this ordering has started to become ambiguous, so in order to clearly define the premise again, our current aim was to find adjustments appropriate to follow this.
The prime example of changes to this hierarchy were with the increase in the Treasure Hunter effect for familiar pets due to the level cap increase and we would like to start by adjusting this area.
The development team looked into routes to adjust this, such as changing the pet’s job, lowering the stats of the pets in exchange for not lowering the Treasure Hunter effect, revamping the pet’s special abilities, etc., but ultimately they made the decision to preserve their fighting capabilities and only reduce their Treasure Hunter effect. To go along with this adjustment, we will be easing up on the materials required to synthesize “Lucky Broth” which created with the basis of the Treasure Hunter effect in mind.
※The current focus of this adjustment is for familiar pets, but in the future if automatons and avatars are given Treasure Hunter, we will be adopting the same policy.
To give a bit more insight, the development team looked into a completely different direction on this at first, exploring if they could establish proper balance to follow this idea by changing the drop rate table. However, if they were to change the drop rates, the obtainment rate for every single item would change and the effects would be too drastic, so they came to the conclusion that they would not be adjusting the drop rates.
Since we have seen some comments related to Dynamis for this discussion about the effect of Treasure Hunter amongst jobs, first I would like to respond to this.
The aforementioned adjustment is not geared towards specific content, as jobs adjustments are considered to have large effects on everything. Regardless of the existing content, we are considering the case of adding new content in the future and decided it was necessary to re-examine the guidelines and make adjustments.
Continuing on, here are some comments in regards to some feedback we have received.
Faithful Falcorr
Since this is a thief-type pet, many of you were hoping for a strong Treasure Hunter effect and we apologize deeply for lowering the effect. We will be looking into adjustments for Falcorr so that this pet can be utilized differently than Yuly and increase the amount of time it is called for, in addition to the previously mentioned recipe changes.
Selection between battle capability of pets/Treasure Hunter
This was an exploration of where the beastmaster job has been placed; a job that focuses on fighting alongside a pet, or a job that focuses on Treasure Hunter. We felt that the former was much more fitting and believe that you all feel the same. Based on this decision, we began to look into adjustments of the benefits of Treasure Hunter. Of course, this doesn’t mean that Treasure Hunter is impermissible as a means of support for pets, and the effect itself will remain intact.
Exploration of attack aspects
Finally, the current focus of this adjustment was Treasure Hunter and adjustments to attack aspects is a different thing to look into. The equation isn’t as simple as saying if a pet has a high value of TH, then attack power will not be raised, and we will be continuing to make necessary adjustments while making the most of each job’s strengths.
